The story of the tomb of St. Francis, hidden for centuries beneath the main altar, lends an almost mystical undertone to this new era. After his death in 1226, the body was carefully hidden to avoid theft or desecration. It was only discovered in 1818, after a long search, and since then, several verifications have been carried out — most recently in 2015 –, which confirmed the authenticity and good state of preservation of the relics. Those bones, marked by the suffering and wounds of the Crucified One, are the physical echo of a life spent for love. The Basilica of St. Francis will become, during that month, the spiritual heart of the world. A massive influx of pilgrims from all Continents is expected. During the event, Martin provided an extensive account of his childhood, describing a background shaped by neglect, instability, and prolonged periods within state care during the 1970s. He said he was frequently left unattended as an infant, prompting intervention by neighbours and authorities before being placed into institutional care.

He was adopted at the age of four, but said his early experiences had already resulted in deep psychological trauma. According to Martin, behavioural issues during childhood were often treated as personal failings rather than symptoms of neglect, a pattern he said reflected the limitations of welfare and mental health systems at the time.

By his early teens, Martin said he was regularly consuming alcohol and struggling at school. He reported being expelled from multiple institutions and later spending time in juvenile detention, including on his 16th birthday.

I watched the BBC SciFi series entitled “Blake’s 7” when it was first broadcast between 1978-1981. Like many, I was sad when the series ended. It grew out of Dr Who (Terry Nation) and reflected a left-wing uprising against a right-wing Fascist State. The late 1970s was the last time a left-wing Labour Party was in power. The British workers united and rose-up to secure their rights with strikes, mass demonstrations, and marches. During the 1970s, and as a reaction to the left-leaning Hippy movement of the 1960s, The British “National Front” (NF) was on the march with its rampant message of misogyny, racism, and wanton violence. This led to the defeat of the workers at the ballot box (that’s liberal democracy for you) and the advent of the fascistic Margaret Thatcher – a working class Tory who had benefited from the free milk given to school children, free healthcare, free education, subsidised social housing, and welfare support, etc. During her ten-year tenure – Thatcher took all this away from the British people!

Eventually, one man died of starvation and cold, whilst the survivor seems to have left the cabin in search of help around the thirteenth week, To date, only four of the five bodies have been found. Considering the cognitive and psychiatric disabilities and ailments these men suffered, (very different to the hyper-fit Soviet teenagers involved in the Dyatlov Pass), what these men achieved is impressive even if it is virtually impossible to ascertain WHY it is that they did what they did. This is the only mystery. The US is an uncaring capitalist society – perhaps this simple fact explains exactly why five disabled men died whilst hiking through the snow.

Rainbow: Mitzvot (Commandments) – the Seven Laws of Noah! (12.6.2023)

This idea is a leap of logic that attempts to ‘link’ the ‘eight’ sectioned ‘Rainbow Flag’ of Gilbert Baker with the (Hebrew) religious teachings of the ‘Seven Laws of Noah’. These teachings are also referred to as the ‘Noahide Commandments’ (or the ‘Mitzvot’ of Noah). Although Jewish people follow their own set of ‘Mitzvot’ (Commandments) – non-Jewish people who live alongside Jewish people are expected to willingly comply with Noah’s Seven Laws. In Jewish scripture it is stated that Yahweh “created the world that it might be settled”. (Isaiah 45:18) This implies a level of required civilized conduct – which can only be achieved when non-Jewish people also correctly observe the required ‘mitzvot’.

My family are proud to be Soviets, British, Chinese and ‘Internationalist’! It is the ordinary downtrodden and oppressed people that constitute the rank-and-file membership of any Communist Party! We, the People, the Workers, are the raw material that comprises any ‘Red Army’ which exists to protect the masses and confront the barbarism and racism of fascism! This is our Red Flag at the top of this article – which I found on a Russian language page! We need a ‘new’ and genuinely ‘new’ Communist Party that rejects the cronyism that defines most of today’s poor excuses for collective action! Do not be afraid – stand up and be counted – you have nothing to lose but your chains!
