A spontaneous movement of the people of Lugansk (in East Ukraine) against the neo-Nazi insurgency (sponsored by US President Barack Obama, the UK and the EU) that illegally occupied and overthrew the democratically elected government of West Ukraine in 2014!
Opened in 1974 on the 30th Anniversary of the defeat of Nazi German forces in the Arctic, the Monument is located at an altitude of about 200 metres above the sea level. It is here that Soviet artillery crews stood their ground, repelling enemy attacks. Standing 42 metres tall, the monument is one of the tallest in Russia. Also on display at the site are anti-aircraft guns, neighboured by a sloped triangular pyramid symbolising a flag at half-mast in mourning.
Nowhere is it taught in the US or modern Russia that the USSR was an important ally of the UK and the US between 1941-1945 – or that the Nazi Germans and their Catholic alleys inflicted around 40 million casualties (killed and wounded) in the USSR! These Soviet men, women, and children were mass-murdered by Germans, Italians, Spanish, Irish, Finnish, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonia, French, Belgians, Dutch, Norse, Danish, and Slovakian invaders (many far-right “volunteers” from already conquered or supposedly “neutral countries like Eire) – with entire cadres of Catholic priests accompany various of these units to ensure “spiritual strength” between the massacres. After the war, not a single Catholic priest stood trial – whilst the Vatican assisted in the escape of tens of thousands of Nazi War Criminals to Central and South America.
The KKE quite correctly criticises modern Russia for its anti-Soviet activities that pervade far beyond the case of Boris Kagarlitsky – including the demonisation of Lenin, the Bolshevik Movement – and even the eulogising of a pro-Nazi Russian – Ivan Ilyin! This is why some question is their really any difference between modern Ukraine and Russia? Trotskyism lurks in the shadows like the threatening paedophile of legend. Trotsky may be buried in Mexico – but he certainly keeps raising his head. We are left having to steer the ship of dialectics through the chopping waters of revisionism without springing a leak or being flooded by betrayal! Finally, the KKE is itself a member of a group of revisionist Communist Parties in the West that routinely plays-down the true import of Marxist-Leninism, the importance of Joseph Stalin, and the ongoing war against fascism. This is why the KKE (and its ilk) have never opposed Neo-Nazism in Ukraine or supported Russia’s military response to it. Simply referring to Russia’s actions as “Imperialist” is Trotskyite in origin and intent. It dialectically solves nothing.
It is clear that the United States and Russia are states whose national interests will never be identical. They cannot coincide completely, not even 50%. But when these interests do coincide, this situation must be exploited to develop simultaneous and similar interests . However, when interests do not coincide and contradict each other, responsible countries must do everything possible to prevent this contradiction from escalating into confrontation, especially a military confrontation that would be disastrous for many other countries.

The monument “Glory to the Labour of Miners” is considered one of the symbols of Donetsk. It was erected on Shakhtarskaya Square – which is located at the entrance to the city centre. A road leading from the airport, railway station and Western bus station runs past this place. Thanks to this location, many visitors see the symbol of the main profession of Donbass.
