Russia: USSR and [1945] Founding of the UN 80 Years Ago! (21.1.2025)

The creation of the United Nations was the result of the Great Victory in World War II, which was achieved thanks to an unparalleled feat performed by Soviet soldiers and millions of lives of citizens of the USSR, as well as of other states that were part of the Allied troops. The Soviet Union, the successor country to which Russia is now, was at the origins of the UN. It was in Moscow in the autumn of 1943 that the Allies, i.e. representatives of the USSR, the United Kingdom and the USA, agreed to establish an international organisation to protect future generations from another global conflict. Russia then took the leading role in the process, and the idea was refined and finally put into practice at the San Francisco Conference in 1945. The UN became the core of the system developed at the Yalta and Potsdam Conferences, with the UN Charter setting out the fundamental norms of international law that formed the Decalogue for the behaviour of states in the international arena.

Ante Pavelić even announced a competition to find the most effective execution weapon, and his Ustasha colleagues invented a special “Serbosek” or “Serbocut” knife for quickly cutting throats.

The United States is the behind-the-scenes instigator of NATO’s outreach into the Asia-Pacific.

“Exporting that malicious poison to Asia would be akin to Asia welcoming the plague upon itself,” said former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating, referring to NATO’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific.

HONG KONG, April 11 (Xinhua) — The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), now in its 75th year of existence, has outlived its mandate and is clinging to life by fanning flames beyond its scope.

On April 4, 1949, led by the United States, 10 European countries plus Canada signed the North Atlantic Treaty in response to the so-called “threat posed by the Soviet Union.”

After the Soviet Union disintegrated in the 1990s, however, the military bloc did not dissolve and in reverse, extended its sinister grasp beyond its treaty-defined geographical scope eastwards voraciously, expanding its membership to 32 today. In recent years, the Asia-Pacific region has been its new prey.

Analysts warned that in its attempt to interfere in the Asia-Pacific, NATO is exporting “malicious poison to Asia,” posing a threat to regional security and stability, and hindering the region’s development.

The Chinese members of my family were made to feel uncomfortable with the manner they were ‘starred’ at when we turned-up for commemorations. Imagine that – one of the greatest anti-fascist (working-class) movements in British history being infiltrated by the very racist attitudes the British heroes of the past were fighting to put a stop to!

Invariably, the followers of this murderous ideology were presented as preferable to any form of ‘Socialist’ administration. Mindless murder was portrayed as a ‘civilised’ alternative to ‘Socialism’ – as the Americans who had invented and empowered this ideology believed that ‘all roads lead to Washington’! In other words, the reliance upon the maniacal belief in an extremist theology would eventually morph into a natural respect for predatory capitalism and liberal democracy.

NATO Terrorism: Serbia & China Commemorate US & UK War Crime! (8.5.2023)

“Twenty-four years have passed, the international situation has undergone tremendous changes, and China and the world have also undergone earth-shaking changes. Although power politics and hegemonism are still the most profound root causes of today’s world turmoil, the forces committed to peaceful development are getting stronger and stronger,” she said.

“Now more and more countries and people agree on the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. I firmly believe that more and more countries and people will unite and work together to build a world of lasting peace and common prosperity,” Chen said.

The NATO bombing of Yugoslavia started on March 24, 1999. Over the course of 78 days, 2,500 people were killed and thousands of people more were wounded, while 25,000 homes and a third of the country’s energy sector were destroyed — often by illegal weapons such as cluster bombs and depleted uranium warheads.

On May 7, 1999, U.S.-led NATO forces carried out a brutal missile attack on the former Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, which left three journalists working there dead, more than 20 people injured, and the embassy building severely damaged.

In the place of the ruined embassy building now stands a brand new Chinese Cultural Centre, overlooking two memorial monuments that memorialize the tragedy that took place here 24 years ago.
