Thomas Morris, who posted online under the username CodComedyTJ, posted vile ‘explicitly racist’ abuse during online broadcasts. Morris would use a website which allows people to connect to strangers around the world via a video call, before using hateful language.

He would then stream that call onto another site, where likeminded people could watch his interactions and leave comments. Recordings of the video calls would also be posted onto social media app Telegram.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Morris, 25, from Middleton, used props and costumes as part of his online activity. He wore black make-up in several videos and wore wigs and outfits.

Archaeologists proved that the remains belong to a juvenile, with decorative textiles made from shells found near its head and waist – the earliest such findings ever reported in China – which offer rare insights into prehistoric cultural practices in Hainan and potential cultural exchanges with Southeast Asia.

Excavations at the Luobidong site are ongoing, trying to fully reveal the cultural significance of the site and provide a scientific foundation for both prehistoric research in Hainan and the development of the Luobidong National Archaeological Site Park.

China: CPC Re-Deploys Retired Teachers to Remote Areas! (7.10.2025)

This recruitment drive is part of an action plan the government launched in 2018 to enhance the quality of rural education by employing retired educators to teach in rural areas.

According to the statement, the drive will be aimed mainly at retired principals, teaching research staff and experienced teachers aged up to 65.

Teaching professionals recruited under the plan will work at county, town and village schools located in places that had been lifted out of poverty, underdeveloped ethnic counties, border regions and other areas that lack sufficient education resources.
