Zionist-Israel “Initiates 2nd Stage of Genocidal War” – Arab Countries Warn of Escalating Tensions! (29.10.2023)

Countries in the region warned Israel on Saturday against further ground operations in the coastal enclave. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it “condemns and denounces any ground operations carried out by Israel due to the threat they pose to the lives of Palestinian civilians”.

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in a post on social media platform X that an “Israeli ground escalation will have dire results for civilians, and devastating humanitarian and economic dimensions.”

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and visiting Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani stressed in Jordan’s capital Amman the importance of joint Arab action to halt the ongoing Israel-Hamas escalation.

Also in the day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the West of failing to stop the Israeli offensive and slammed Israel’s attacks on Gaza at a pro-Palestinian rally. He said that “it’s the West that is most responsible” for the killings in Gaza.

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned in a statement that Israeli behavior “devoid of any controls or accountability” may ignite the Middle East, fuel hatred in the world, and threaten regional and international peace.

The Israel-Hamas conflict has entered its 22nd day, and the death toll of Palestinians from Israeli military strikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to 7,703, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, about 1,400 Israelis were killed, the majority of them in the Hamas offensive that occurred three weeks ago, while about 230 civilians, the majority of them civilians, are being held captive by Hamas.

When we entered a back corridor – slightly disheartened by the shallowness of the IWM coverage of WWII from an ordinary British and Chinese perspective – we were astonished to find that a ‘Black’ British art exhibition – regarding WWII – had been consigned to an ‘out of the way’ place! The corridor is both bare and bleak – the sort of place one (momentarily) traverses through to get to another place – or perhaps rest for a moment to get one’s bearings. In no civilised way should this location be interpreted as ‘suitable’ for an art exhibition – as it reeks with Eurocentric disdain! Such is the contemporary IWM and the disjointed face it shows to a general public it intends to fleece in its gift shops!

The majority of the martyrs and wounded have been women and children – in addition to the forcible removal of more than 140 families. The difference is that there were political leaders who dared to take the decision, including Saudi King Faisal, who was neither a Revolutionary nor even a Democrat. He was an ally of the United States, but his moral fervour towards Egypt and Syria led him to be the first to implement the embargo, in which Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, the Emirates, and Qatar participated. It lasted from October 1973 to March 1974 and taught the supporters of the usurping Nazi-Zionist entity an unforgettable lesson. Today, under the rule of regimes whose leaders lack independence of decision-making, boldness and magnanimity, the only Arab peoples who are calling for imposing such a ban – are doing so on the streets – during protests!

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine has reminded the British government that the Palestinian people (and the Arab nation) has not forgotten Britain’s major role in their displacing during 1948, granting the Palestinian land (and ancestral homeland) to the Zionist invaders! The British have been the architects who have manufactured this historical tragedy!
