GUANGZHOU, July 14 (Xinhua) — When tourists arrive at Shanwei, a coastal city in south China’s Guangdong Province, they quickly notice that red is everywhere.

In what is known as the city’s red block, the upper facades of street-side shops selling fish maw, eyeglasses and savory Chinese pancakes are painted in red, accented with touches of yellow — echoing the colors of the flag of the Communist Party of China.

Shanwei is a famous “red land.” It is the birthplace of China’s first Soviet government, the Hai-lu-feng Soviet, established in 1927, and also the hometown of Peng Pai, a Communist hero who led the founding of the government, hailed by Mao Zedong as the “king of peasant uprisings.”

The late comrade Ammar Bakdash (1954-2025) was one of the most prominent Arab communist leaders who carried the banner of the international struggle with rare firmness and sincerity. He graduated from the class struggle school since joining the Syrian Communist Party in 1969, and was raised in the arms of Marxism-Leninism, where he completed his postgraduate studies in the Soviet Union, holding a doctorate in economic sciences from Moscow State University.

The Zionist occupation is not merely a local colonial phenomenon; it is a bridgehead for the imperialist project in our region, a functional tool in the hands of global capital, securing its interests, reinforcing the logic of dependency, and imposing an economic model based on the oppression of the Palestinian proletariat, transforming it into cheap, exploited, and suppressed labour power in the service of capitalist settlement monopolies.

The occupation is not based solely on the force of arms, but on a complete network of economic, political, and cultural structures aimed at crushing national identity, destroying the possibilities for independent development, and transforming the Palestinian human being into a crushed entity between the hammer of colonialism and the anvil of capitalism.

Despite all this, our people’s struggle has not ceased; rather, it has become more radical and more convinced of the inevitability of revolutionary change.

From our Marxist-Leninist perspective, we see that the internal contradictions created by the occupation – forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, genocide, and bloody repression – open up the space for the explosion of class and national consciousness, creating the conditions for revolutionary eruption.

As reincarnation does not exist within authentic Buddhism – reincarnation is not rebirth – how can the incorrect path of Lamaism claim to be “Buddhist” – or even unfolding in any coherent sense? If you click on the above link – you will find a Buddhist-Marxist Alliance (UK) article highlighting the dishonest honest history of the 14th Dalai Lama and his association with German Nazism! This is what the West is attempting to preserve by high-jacking the reincarnation process – a fictional religious practice. The imagined 15th Dalai lama will be reborn somewhere in China – not New York, Chicago, or Philadelphia!

Tiverton: WWI Naval Gun [Lime Kiln Road] – Playing in the 1970s Was Very Different! (5.7.2025)

I was born in Oxford – but my parents moved to Tiverton (in East Devon) in 1970. I started school (Wilcombe) in 1972 (when 5-years old) – but changed to a school in Exeter in 1977. However, I have a memory of joining (after school) a group of classmates who “played” on a WWI Naval Gun situated on a public street (situated in Lime Kiln Road)! I have lived in Sutton (South-West Greater London) for over three-decades today – but recently – whilst picking-up my children from school in Cheam, I saw youths dressed in the uniforms of what is today termed the “Combined Cadet Force”, and the thought of myself once playing on a military gun (around 1977) bubbled-up in my mind (although publicly accessible – the gun in question was placed outside the Tiverton Sea Cadets Training Hall). In fact, after having experienced many interest things in my life (including four wonderful years based in Hereford during the 1980s), and having travelled around the world, I surprised myself with this memory and was not even sure it was real!

When his supervisor suggested exploring more natural methods to treat carbon emissions, Deng immediately thought of that land. “I thought, why not capture carbon emissions and use them to fix alkaline soil?” he said.

His department thought the idea was unconventional, but his proposal won support. Li Ping, Party chief of the university’s college of safety and emergency management and engineering, said that the topic addresses local economic needs.

“We encourage our researchers to innovate and solve practical problems. We don’t restrict them in terms of research direction.”

Still, the road wasn’t smooth. Just collecting sufficient varieties of saline-alkaline soil turned out to be a challenge.

“That’s when the Party really stepped in,” Deng said. “Grassroots Party organizations helped connect me with locals who knew where to find the land I needed.”

“The CPC keeps renewing itself and adapting to the times. It’s vibrant and full of energy — and that’s why so many young people are drawn to it,” Deng said.
