Iranian investigators have already begun to determine the true cause of the tragedy. Among the versions being considered is a terrorist attack. Earlier, Washington and Tel Aviv threatened Iran with a response to a “retaliatory attack” on Israel in mid-April. Then the Islamic Republic used missiles and drones against Israel in response to its shelling of the Iranian Consulate General in Syria, which claimed the lives of several high-ranking IRGC Military Personnel, including two Generals.
The U.S. would be well advised to work hard to stop its junior ally in the Middle East in its reckless state-sponsored terrorism, rather than wasting its energy in its foolish act of branding other countries as “terrorist states” under the pretext of the “efforts against terrorism”.
It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to resolutely oppose all forms of terrorism threatening international peace and stability.
But we remind the U.S. once again that we have neither intention nor interest in cooperation with the U.S. in its “efforts against terrorism” exclusively used as a tool for interference and aggression on other sovereign states.
The DPRK will continue taking necessary measures to disclose before the international community such interference and acts of aggression openly committed by the U.S. under the signboard of “cooperation in combating terrorism” and to thoroughly foil them. (End)
In the renewed request, Ambassador Madonsela emphasized the escalating “gravity of the situation in Gaza” and “the destruction of Gaza on a scale not witnessed since World War Two.”
Madonsela urged the court to order Israel to cease its military operations in Gaza, including in Rafah, and withdraw its troops from the entire Gaza Strip.
Additionally, the ambassador called for Israel to take “all effective measures” to ensure unimpeded access to Gaza for the United Nations and humanitarian aid.
Israel’s argument will be presented to the ICJ on Friday, with a judgment expected in the coming weeks.
