For his part, Lazzarini thanked Jordan for its support for the agency and its solidarity with Palestinian refugees.

Lazzarini stressed that despite all the international community’s calls, Israel invaded and attacked the southernmost Gaza city of Rafah on May 6, with half of Gaza’s population forced to flee.

He pointed out that the two main crossings in the south, Rafah Crossing and Kerem Shalom Crossing, have turned into conflict zones, and there are currently no crossings to transport aid across the borders.

Lazzarini noted that “198 UNRWA employees were killed, 160 sites were completely or partially destroyed, and employees were arrested, tortured, and forced to confess to crimes they did not commit.”

In an article published by the Le Monde newspaper, the signatories wrote, “We, the citizens, call on the President of the Republic and the entire international community to recognize the State of Palestine without further delay.”

The group stated that “the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, ongoing for over a century, has reached an unprecedented and unacceptable peak since October 7th, followed by subsequent events,” urging the international community, especially France, to “respond firmly and decisively.”

They emphasized that “France, recognized for its unique position among the nations, must be a model for those who have not yet dared to take this step.”

Presidency Praises China’s Pro-Palestine Positions, Backs Chinese Right to Defend its Sovereignty & Territorial Integrity! (16.5.2024)

The Presidency stressed the keenness of the Palestinian leadership to strengthen and develop mutual relations between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.

The Palestinian Presidency reaffirmed the State of Palestine’s full commitment to the One-China policy followed by China in preserving its territorial integrity, including Taiwan, and rejecting interference in Chinese internal affairs, affirming that the unity of friendly China and its wise policies at an international level contributed to supporting and stabilizing the region, as well as international peace and security.

It affirmed its support for China’s right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and unify its entire territory, including Taiwan, as well as its support for the peaceful development of Cross-Strait ties.

Meanwhile, such allies of the U.S. as Germany, France and New Zealand have also dispatched their warships and warplanes to the Asia-Pacific region including the waters around the Korean peninsula one after another this year, encroaching upon the security interests of regional countries and escalating the military tension in the region.

In particular, an Australian warship, dispatched to the waters around the Korean peninsula, let a military helicopter go into action and threaten the maritime and air security of a surrounding country, thus creating possibility of a dangerous armed conflict.

Such military intervention, conducted by the above-said countries under the pretext of implementing the so-called UNSC “resolution” and abiding by international laws, is contrary to the purpose and principle of the UN Charter with sovereign equality and non-interference as its core and poses a visible threat to peace and security in the Korean peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole.

UN: General Assembly Backs Palestinian Bid for UN Membership! (11.5.2024)

UNITED NATIONS, May 10 (Xinhua) — The UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday adopted a resolution supporting the Palestinian bid to become a full UN member by recognizing it as qualified to join and recommending that the Security Council “reconsider the matter favourably.”

The resolution was adopted with 143 votes in favor and nine against, including the United States and Israel, while 25 countries abstained. China voted for the resolution.

The resolution states, “The State of Palestine… should therefore be admitted to membership” and “recommends that the Security Council reconsider the matter favourably.”

The resolution “determines” that a State of Palestine is qualified for membership – dropping the original language that in the UN General Assembly’s judgment it is “a peace-loving state.” It therefore recommends that the Security Council reconsider its request “favourably.”

DPRK: Dissolution of Anti-North Korea Sanctions Committee! (7.5.2024)

The U.S. and other Western countries, together with their vassal forces, released a “joint statement” on May 1 as regards the dissolution of the panel of experts assisting the UNSC sanctions committee on the DPRK.

In every paragraph of the statement reminiscent of a funeral oration, I could read their partiality and attachment for the panel and their pitiful plight, stunned by its dissolution.

It is not surprising that the U.S. and other Western countries, which have maintained their vested rights by inflicting misfortune and pain upon other nations under the pretext of guaranteeing global peace and security, feel deep regrets about the end of that mouthpiece organization.
