Everest: How PRC Climber – “Xu Jingzeng” [许竞曾] – Located the Body of – Andrew Irvine – in 1960! (24.12.2024)

There is still a chance. The camera they carried with them at the time was not found. Perhaps Irvine’s body will be found one day, which may solve this century-old mystery.

I saw an article on the Internet reporting that Chinese mountaineer Xu Jingzeng once said that he had seen Irvine’s body at 8,300 meters on Mount Everest in 1960. Yesterday, a netizen commented in my previous article that the documentary about the Chinese climbing Mount Everest in 1960 mentioned that they found the bodies of foreign climbers during the climb.

In 1960, the Chinese completed the first ascent of Mount Everest from the north slope. Before that, there were only a few climbing records, including Mallory in 1921 and 1924. It is indeed possible that they found Irvine’s remains, but no one paid attention to these things at the time, and they were lost in history again.

Oxygen & Y-Fronts!

Mount Everest: Oxygen, Spoons, Y-Fronts, Mallory & Irvine – My Xmas Address! (24.12.2024)

As the “Nationalists” had taken over China in 1911 – there is absolutely NO negative anti-China tropes at any point in the English narrative – either in the early 1920s – or from the contemporary author, which is incredible when you consider the “Nationalists” destroyed the five-thousand year-old Imperial System! The “Nationalists” evolved away from their original leftwing base (under Sun Yatsen) – and morphed into a pro-Japanese, and pro-capitalist entity – chopping-off the heads of thousands who disagreed. Tibet was part of China then as of now – but Mallory discusses only the Office of the Dalai Lama being the Authorities the British had to negotiate with (whilst in reality this Office continuously liaised with Beijing). When British explorers visited Buddhist monasteries without permission from Lhasa – the Dalai Lama (the 13th I believe) would summon the offending Abbot (Head Monk) to Lhasa to have his eyes plucked-out using the old trusty “Ceremonial Spoon” (first offense) in private. If he persisted in his criminal behaviour (defined as “promiscuous compassion”) – he would be “skinned alive” (second offence) in public – with his dead body NOT hacked-up and fed to the vultures.

"My father met Norman Bethune in Spain during his recovery from battle injuries. Influenced by him, my father aspired to come to China, where he met my mother and later had me," said Michael Crook, chairman of the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives. His parents, David and Isabel Crook, played an important role in training a large number of foreign-language professionals for China. "The spirit of Bethune has not faded with time; instead, it has been widely inherited and carried forward in both China and Canada," said Hu Jinqiang, director of the North China Military Martyrs Cemetery. Hu noted that today Bethune is not just a name but a symbol of internationalism, humanism and selfless dedication. "We commemorate him to inspire more people to remember history and carry forward his spirit."

China: Passing of Canadian Surgeon – Norman Bethune [1890-1939] – Commemorated! (22.12.2024)

This year marks the 85th death anniversary of Bethune, who died of blood poisoning at the age of 49 on Nov. 12, 1939 in China while aiding the Chinese people in their fight against Japanese aggression. His remains were relocated to the cemetery in 1953.

The commemoration began at 10 a.m., with participants bowing before the surgeon’s tomb and presenting flower baskets.

Disability in Ancient Egypt!

Disability History Month: British Museum – Eight Histories of Disabled People in Ancient Egypt! (18.12.2024)

Disabled people have always been present and active in society. Many specialists and experts around the world have started to investigate representations and lived experiences of disability and care in the past through archaeology and museum collections. The objects and remains highlighted here demonstrate some of the stories we are uncovering and hint at the discoveries that might be made in the future. We hope that these stories will demonstrate to everyone that disabled people have always existed and been part of the story of humanity, and empower disabled people to see themselves in history, and to continue making it, thousands of years into the future.

SES Water 2024

Sutton: Private Company – SES Water – “Runs-Out” of Water Supply! (18.12.2024)

The water company (SES Water) has opened “Emergency Water Supply” depots dotted throughout the Borough! Places such as Local Libraries, Town Halls, and High Street depositories have been established – operating 24-hours a day! Thousands of people are having to queue-up outside Cheam Library whilst Police Constables are keeping order by holding people back! Each person is permitted “one” plastic bottle (1-2 litres) and no more – at anyone visit. The problem is the time the entire process is taking – and the fact that the bottled water-supplies are continuously running-out – leaving thousands empty-handed! It is strongly suggested that only the young and fit queue-up (with no young children) due to the stress involved. SES Water is delivering water to the doors of those who can prove they are “vulnerable”! My view is that water-lorries should be visiting all main streets (as happened during the 1976 Drought – when the Labour government sent relief lorries to nearly every Council Estate – and I carried a bucket with my parents as a nine-year-old). This would stop huge crowds gathering, illnesses spreading, and limit civil unrest! As for ourselves, we are holding-out with the vigour of Maoist Resistance! Even the local schools have closed early for the Xmas holiday due to having no access to water supplies!
