China: Japan’s Anniversary of WWII Surrender Draws Concern! (16.8.2024)

Since 2022, Japan has signed reciprocal access agreements with Australia, Britain and the Philippines, forming a “quasi-alliance” relationship. Japan has also strengthened its collusion with NATO, attempting to “invite the wolf into the house.” During Kishida’s visit to the United States in April this year, the two sides raised their defense ties to unprecedented levels.

These contentious moves by Japan violate its exclusively defense-oriented policy and pacifism embodied in its Constitution and pose security threats to East Asia.

Ukeru Magosaki, a former Japanese foreign ministry official, said that disputes between Japan and its Asian neighbors could be resolved diplomatically; however, the Japanese government has blindly catered to the demands of the United States and gone down a dangerous path of military buildup.

It is time for Japan to genuinely consider what kind of policy can bring it security.

The pair were saluted by a string of military guards atop snow-white horses before making their way past a group of adoring children clutching balloons and waving and smiling at the two great leaders. Other revellers were seen touting huge portraits of the Russian President standing beside the Russian flag – the colours of which adorned the facades of buildings around the square. The ceremony also gave Kim a chance to introduce Putin to a host of key figures in his Politburo, including Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui; top aide and ruling party secretary Jo Yong Won; and his powerful sister, Kim Yo Jong, who besides her role as chief ideologue has in recent months become a fiery-tongued resister to US oppression. After touring the square, Kim and Putin then travelled together to Pyongyang’s Kumsusan State Guest House, North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency said, for their first talks together on North Korean soil.

Appreciating the performance, the General Secretary said that every number was pulsating with the Party’s policy and full of love for the factory, adding that it showed the revolutionary character of the workers of the factory, determined to become standard-bearers and shock brigade in implementing the Party’s lines and policies, as well as the great ideological value and artistry.

He told officials that he was pleased to see the modernized factory, but he was more pleased to see the ideological and moral traits of its workers fully armed with the Juche idea. He said that their determination to share the destiny with the Party gave him strong courage and great strength. He added that he once again realized that he could cheerfully overcome any difficulties thanks to the reliable working class of the DPRK.

The word “reliable working class” reflected his ardent love and absolute trust in the heroic Korean workers who have performed miracles and feats, displaying their mental power with pure loyalty to the Party to single-mindedly trust and follow it only.

UN Security Council: Resolution Adopted Protecting Humanitarian Personnel! (25.5.2024)

The resolution condemns disinformation, information manipulation, and incitement to violence against humanitarian personnel and their premises and assets, and expresses concern over the impact of misinformation on such personnel.

It urges states to conduct full, prompt, impartial and effective investigations within their jurisdiction of violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law committed against humanitarian personnel and their premises and assets and where appropriate, take action against those responsible in accordance with domestic and international law.

It further urges states to prosecute persons allegedly responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law and to cooperate with domestic, regional and international courts and tribunals.

China: National Disability Day – Lawyers Association Teams-Up to Aid Disability Support Communities! (20.5.2024)

According to the agreement, the two associations will establish a system for offering voluntary services in areas such as legal consultation, advocacy, resolving legal issues and disputes, and developing legal policies.

The agreement also promotes and supports the involvement of local bar associations, law firms and individual lawyers in volunteer activities for people with disabilities. This participation may involve providing legal services, engaging in advocacy efforts and offering various forms of support, the associations noted.

Their ultimate aim is to unite and mobilize a substantial number of lawyers to actively engage in this cause, they added.
