UK: Visiting Haytor – Dartmoor National Park! (17.4.2025

We were committed to traversing directly up before we fully appreciated the difference. Nevertheless, hundreds climb Haytor every week – with wild Dartmoor ponies wandering around the car-park area. These animals may – or may not – come over for a stroke, but visitors must be careful not to be bitten, head-butted, or kicked, etc. This does not happen very often – but wild animals should be respected. Another issues are yapping dogs (which must be kept on leads). As matters transpired, there was one or two calm and sedate ponies that wanted to be stroked and petted, etc. The general experience is important for children – particularly those from city areas – to re-connect with nature and experience the feeling that the immensity of nature – wide-open spaces – can generate! I last visited probably about 20-years ago with Gee – but our two children not yet born.

History of Roman Occupation!

UK: Early Roman “Basilica” Found in London! (13.2.2025)

The site was discovered at 85 Gracechurch Street, an office building that’s about to be demolished and redeveloped.

Earlier archaeological investigations revealed the ancient basilica’s approximate location, so the team created several small test pits to see what was hidden beneath the concrete floor.

On the third attempt, digging between the filing cabinets, they struck lucky.

“You can see a huge chunk of Roman masonry, and it’s incredible that it survives this well. We’re absolutely thrilled that there’s so much of it here,” said Sophie Jackson.

The Beauty of "Juche" Socialism!

They also extended thanks to the builders, officials of those areas, Party members and working people who completed the housing construction in the flood-hit areas at the highest level through a do-or-die struggle to bring joy to the people.

They stressed that the fine new houses to be owned by the flood victims would be unthinkable apart from the wise guidance of Kim Jong Un who has noble outlook on the people.

Representing the unanimous wishes of all the participants, the speakers extended the warmest thanks to Kim Jong Un who absolutely defends the destiny and future of the people across the country and takes warm care of them.

Conveyed at the ceremonies were the household goods sent by Kim Jong Un to the flood victims and the licenses for the use of houses.

The venues for the ceremonies turned into a sea of tears of gratitude of the people deeply moved by the great benevolence of Kim Jong Un who provided them with excellent houses and even household goods free of charge.

According to China Central Television, the lunar bricks will be sent to China’s space station aboard the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft to verify their mechanical and thermal performance, as well as their ability to withstand cosmic radiation. The first lunar brick is expected to return to Earth by the end of 2025.

China unveiled a national mid-term to long-term development program for space science on Tuesday, outlining a roadmap for the development of space science in China through 2050. The international lunar research station, which was initiated by China, will be constructed during the program’s second phase from 2028 to 2035.

Long Live the 1381 Peasants' Revolt!

St Albans Abbey: Main-Gate! (28.5.2024)

During 1381 – England came within a hair’s breadth of becoming a People’s Republic! This great effort led by Wat Tyler was eventually defeated through the duplicity of the ruling classes – but its example echoes down through history! The beginnings of this gate stem from the 11th century and the consolidation of the Norman Conquest. This was when Roman Catholicism landed in England as part of the ruling government structure. Prior to this, Celtic Christianity (probably from Egypt) held sway in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. What Catholic presence there was prior to 1066 CE was piece-meal and generally lacked any real political power or influence. The differwence between these two forms of Christianity is that although both possessed a monastic tradition – the Celtic version saw the monastery (not the Church) as the centre of society. Furthermore, the Celtic version possessed a tolerant attitude toward non-Christian beliefs – a position rejected by the Catholic variant. With the coming of the politically empowered Catholic Church – Celtic Christianity was all but wiped-out by the 12th century.

35000 BCE - Dragon

Qianfeng Daoism: Enter the Dragon! (9.2.2024)

Considering how important the concept of the ‘Dragon’ is throughout Chinese culture – I was surprised just how haphazard the construction of its representing ideogram actually is. As this is my area of academic expertise, I could not believe what I was looking at! Consequently, it took me three-days to disentangle the mess that this ideogram seems to have gotten itself into. Having achieved this objective – I then unloaded the finished article onto the Qianfeng Daoist website I help to administer.
