China: New Drug Used to Treat Common Infection! (19.11.2025)

A new treatment combination for Helicobacter pylori — a common stomach bacterium linked to ulcers and gastritis — based on a domestically developed drug has shown comparable, and in some cases superior, efficacy in eradicating the infection compared with standard therapy, according to recent clinical research.

The therapy offers a promising new approach to tackling the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance, said the study published in the international journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases in late September.

The experimental triple therapy centres on rifasutenizol, a novel antimicrobial agent developed specifically for H. pylori infection by Tennor Therapeutics, a pharmaceutical company based in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

China: Tianwen-1 Mars Orbiter Captures Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS! (7.11.2025)

It is thought to have formed around ancient stars near the centre of the Milky Way and may be older than the solar system itself, offering rare insight into the composition and evolution of exoplanetary material.

The Tianwen-1 team began preparing for the observation in early September this year. With ATLAS moving at about 58 kilometres per second and appearing 10,000 to 100,000 times dimmer than the Martian surface, the mission faced an extreme technical challenge in image targeting and stability.

Originally designed for Mars surface observation, Tianwen-1 has been orbiting the planet since February 2021.

The successful observation of ATLAS marks an extension of the probe’s mission, serving as a test for China’s upcoming Tianwen-2 asteroid mission.

In a social media post, Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki attributed Hong Kong’s ability to overcome difficulties during the interval to the enduring vitality of “one country, two systems”, as well as the central government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability.

Political parties, including the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong — the city’s biggest political party — reaffirmed their support for deeper integration into national development and seizing new opportunities under “one country, two systems”.

Sunny Tan, chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, pledged to leverage Hong Kong’s global connectivity to strengthen industry ties through international fashion events, strengthen the city’s brand and support internationalization efforts.

China: New Study Pushes Back Origin of Complex Animal Behaviour by Almost 10 Million Years! (30.10.2025)

Researchers from the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted a study on the Shibantan Biota, a treasure trove of ancient fossils in Hubei. This fossil biota dates back approximately 550 to 543 million years. They identified several types of burrows made by worm-like animals, indicating that complex animal behaviours were already shaping the seafloor environment nearly 10 million years earlier than previously thought.

Oakham Castle - Rutland!

Rutland: Visiting Oakham Castle – the Land of Large Horse Shoes! (29.10.2025)

As we are staying in the Rutland area – we decided to visit the Castle after I saw a so-called “Auditor” who compromised the “good will” of the institute by deliberately igniting a pointless conflict about flying a drone over the property. We felt that we should visit the site, behave properly and with civility, and defend the good culture of England. These Auditing thugs are making money out of YouTube (most are unemployed and are working on the dole) by following a movement which emerged out of the political far-right in the US. Indeed, Rutland is the only place we have visited that is so democratic that we were allowed to “sit” in the Judges Seat whilst the Magistrate’s Court was not in session. We were told this was allowed as the Court “belongs to the people” who pay for it through taxation.
