Namibia Condemns Germany for Offering to Defend Israel in ICJ Genocide Case! (18.1.2024)

On Friday, German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit rebuffed South Africa’s accusations against Israel at the ICJ hearings, which took place in the Hague. He said in a post on X that Berlin “firmly rejects the accusation of genocide made against Israel. It has no basis whatsoever”.

He added that his country “will therefore speak as a third party in the main hearing before the International Court of Justice”.

Staunchly supporting Israel, Germany issued a statement stating that Israel “has been defending itself” against Hamas. The statement defines the South African case as a “political instrumentalisation” of the UN Genocide Convention, which it opposes.

South Africa has called upon the ICJ to take provisional measures against Israel, which includes an immediate halt to Israeli military activity in Gaza. Although the interim rulings are expected to be reached in the next few weeks, a final verdict is expected to take years.

In the fighting across other arenas, the official announcement by the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces regarding carrying out attacks and continuing to carry out attacks in the future – represents a prelude to larger movements, the features of which may be determined by an upcoming speech of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Even when using a VPN – the website of the PFLP is being ‘blocked’ in the West. I am used to this with regards to the news sites emerging from China and North Korea – but the usual reactions that gets around these US suppressions of freedom of speech are not working. Of course, just as the Hamas (and other) Freedom Fighters are finding numerous clever ways of destroying Israeli fascism – we must find clever solutions to US and Zionist attacks upon freedom of speech!

The Front concluded the importance of South Africa’s step to put an end to the crimes of Zionist genocide against civilians, health and service facilities and infrastructure, and to try the leaders of the Zionist Occupation as war criminals in International Courts for the unprecedented crimes and massacres it has committed, stressing the need for this trial to include all leaders of countries who provided protection and cover for the Zionist entity, and supported it with money, weapons and political empowerment.

The PFLP considered that the return of this war criminal (with blood-stained hands) to the international and political scene – the perpetrator of the “weapons of mass destruction in Iraq” lie – is a bad omen! The PFLP stressed that the Palestinian people (and their Resistance) will fight any efforts (or plans) aimed at developing the forced (or voluntary) displacement of the Palestinian people. The Palestinian people will also RESIST any efforts to place the Gaza Strip under any form of international control – as this will be an indirect victory for the Zionist Occupation!

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Saturday, that the martyrs of the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip have reached 21,672, since the start of the war on October 7th 2023, and the toll includes the death of 165 people, and the injury of 250 others, during the past 24 hours.

The Ministry added that 56,165 people were injured as a result of the Israeli bombing since October 7th, noting that only 1% of the injured were taken out of the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.

Among the martyrs of the bombing were 312 Medical Personnel, according to the source, who also confirmed that 99 Health Personnel in the Gaza Strip are still in the custody of the Israeli Army.

The Ministry condemned the exposure of thousands of detainees in Israel to “physical and psychological torture, starvation, thirst, lack of sleep, and continuous interrogation in the extreme cold.”
