With most of the lights off by 11pm, I sat on my religious chair (the Church dates back to the 14th century – and so does the chair). I cleared my mind and immersed myself into the ancient nature of the stone-work. The stone was cool to the touch – I went bare-foot to ground myself – and felt the calm structure of the place. No fear, no deception, and nothing to worry about, Although I neither support or oppose theology – I sensed the spiritual feel that all the attendees developed and projected into rge physical structure of the place. In many places in the UK, the Christians deliberately built their Churches on already existing Pagan sites of ancient spirituality – with nothing to do with a Christian god. The surname “Da Silva” means “Of the Forest” – or “From the Forest”. Of course, this individual’s entire family name could be “Da Silva Aguiar” – meaning the “Forest Haunted by an Eagle”. The Moorish “Eagle” people of Spanish descent had finally settled in the Portuguese “Forest”!
Since around 1539 CE (and Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries) this Church has been ‘Protestant’. This is a large Church built for a substantial Township and can probably hold at least 100 worshippers at any one time. Bear in mind that there used to be a greater number of Churches in the UK per small area than there are today – and that populations used to be far smaller despite virtually everyone professing a faith. Perhaps the ample and impressive size of the Church is linked to it serving a local population with a higher social status and wealth – requiring certain standards as being seen to be kept! As far as we are concerned, archaeological structures retain the data of the past, and by studying these structures we are able to glimpse into that past!
SEOUL, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has reopened its borders to its citizens staying abroad, a major step to ease its anti-epidemic border control measures, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Sunday.
The State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters issued an announcement on Saturday, saying DPRK citizens abroad “have been allowed to return home,” considering the eased worldwide pandemic situation.
Those returned will be put under proper medical observation at quarantine wards for a week.
The DPRK was among the first countries to impose strict border control since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.
Representatives of the Russian Federation (including Soviet Red Airforce ‘Veterans’) attended the solemn ‘Opening’ of a Monument (constructed in the capital City of the Laos Buddhist-Socialist Republic) – Dedicated to the BRAVERY of the Soviet (Transport Aviation) Red Airforce Pilots – who took part in the hostilities throughout Indochina during the years of American military aggression which occurred between 1960-1973! This was a ‘PRIVATE’ occasion designed by the Laotian Government to express the Gratitude of the entire Laotian People to the Russian People (Past and Present) which took place on December 6th, 2022! This Monument will Officially be ‘Opened’ to the General Public in Vientiane City (Laos) on April 14th, 2023!
