China: Survey Team Discovers 573 Ancient Stone Fortresses in North-West! (13.11.2025)

The survey revealed that these settlements spanned from about 2800 BC in the late Yangshao period to around 1000 BC in the Shang and Zhou (1046-221 BC) dynasties.

Mostly distributed along riverbanks, the stone fortresses were surrounded by numerous ordinary settlements without defensive stone walls, indicating a clear clustered relationship, said Ma Mingzhi, head of the team.

The development of these stone fortresses shows a clear evolution from small to large in scale, from simple to complex in layout, and from rudimentary to mature in construction techniques — with social hierarchy becoming increasingly distinct.

The survey provides crucial information for a comprehensive understanding of the origin, development, spread and evolution of prehistoric settlements in northern China, Ma added.

China: Uygur Women Hit Hardest by US Sanctions on Xinjiang! (1.9.2024)

Asked if the company would consider laying off its Uygur employees in exchange for the revocation of U.S. sanctions, Dai Tian, general manager of the Urumqi base at Xinjiang Middle Hoshine, said: “No. Absolutely not. We won’t lay off any ethic employees. They have been making contributions to the development of our company, how could we abandon them?”

“We even invested more in Xinjiang after the sanctions,” Dai said, adding that Hoshine has been adjusting its production structure and tackling technical challenges in response to the sanctions.

“We see safeguarding the great unity of our nation as our social responsibility. ‘Forced labor’ was merely an excuse to suppress the development of Chinese high-tech companies and to disrupt China’s social stability and unity. So we should be even more united, and focus on developing and strengthening ourselves,” Dai said.

China: Ancient Silk Road Museum of Underground Tombs Complex – Opens in Xinjiang! (16.7.2024)

A large cache of pottery and bone ware and coins unearthed from the tombs are also on display in the museum.

“The museum makes full use of the original appearance of the tombs, as well as digital exhibition, VR technology and touch screens to offer the audience an immersive experience of the ancient Qiuci,” said Feng Wei, deputy curator of the museum.

According to the Xinjiang regional institute of cultural relics and archaeology, four excavation rounds were carried out from 2007 to 2023 at the site in Kuqa, which led to the discovery of more than 2,000 relic sites. In addition to the tombs, there are wells, cooking stoves and other relics dating from the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) up to the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).

Rochdale Result!

Gallowcide in Rochdale! (1.3.2024)

What fooled many people for many years was the fact that until his 2002 reversion to Islam – he was genuinely of the ‘left’ – and whilst he absorbed the inevitable pre-modern attitudes of the theistic belief system of his choice, he kept up the ‘front’ (or ‘rear-guard’ action) that ‘hid’ his new non-Socialist attitudes from those who only knew him as a ‘Socialist’. Perhaps his clash with the US Senate in 2005 was his fabled ‘Last Stand’. It is probably dawning on him now – as he sits in his comfy chair, sips his coco and wears his warm slippers – that to stop the Grooming Gangs – he will have to denounce a number of those religiously motivated prejudices he now currently adheres to – because such an adherence makes his partner feel ‘nice’ about the world (the ‘JK Rowling’ effect).

Foreign Diplomats Impressed by Progress Made in Xinjiang! (11.8.2023)

For years, water scarcity and safety concerns have plagued the residents of Jiashi due to harsh natural conditions. However, thanks to completion of the project in 2020, some 460,000 people now have access to safe drinking water through newly constructed or renovated pipelines running for a total length of 1,827 kilometers.

“That is a fundamental victory,” Campbell said, adding that his country is also focusing on providing people with sanitary potable water and improving livelihoods in areas such as housing, education and food security.

“When we had the opportunity to see the water project here, we were very impressed,” he said, adding that Nicaragua can learn from China’s experience in this respect.

Campbell, who arrived in China in May as the Nicaraguan ambassador, has since visited not only Xinjiang but also Shandong and Hebei provinces, as well as Yiwu city, Zhejiang province. He intends to visit all 34 provincial-level regions in the country.

“Every single province has its own individuality. I think Xinjiang is wonderful and beautiful in its own way,” he said.
