Hong Kong: Western-Backed Jimmy Lai – Mastermind of Crimes Endangering National Security – Sentenced to 20-Years in prison! (10.2.2026)

In the sentencing of Lai, the court found that Lai was the “mastermind and driving force” behind conspiracies to collude with external forces and to publish seditious materials. After considering Lai’s grave criminal conduct as well as his mitigation, the court handed down the sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment, with two of the years overlapping with the prison term Lai is currently serving.

Central government agencies in Hong Kong, as well as local authorities, have voiced support for the sentencing.

The sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment imposed on Jimmy Lai manifested that the rule of law is upheld and justice is done, and also brought great relief to all, said HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee.

Lai betrayed the country and harmed the HKSAR, causing damage to the interests of the country and the HKSAR. His conviction is supported by overwhelming evidence, and he for sure deserves his punishment after all the harm he has done, Lee said.

So, from the perspective of the Chinese people? I believe that any rational Chinese today will have a simple idea: fortunately, I was not born in the United States. Fortunately, this happened under their system. This strengthens our conclusion: only socialism can save China, and only the Communist Party of China can lead China. Without such political parties, systems and road design, no one can jump out of the ruts and dilemmas of the development model that the United States represents.

From the “big reconciliation” discussion of “drinking coffee and drinking human blood” at the beginning of 2023, to the concept of “killing line” at the end of the year providing us with a new perspective on American society, to the unfolding of the Epstein Papers in early 2024 – we are systematically seeing the back and dark side of this “lighthouse” from a level-up or even top-down perspective: from the “killing line” at the bottom to the “Loli Island” at the top, a complete map is gradually becoming clear.

It may be that the US invasion of Afghanistan will be historically viewed (when analysed objectively) as a far more comprehensive “defeat” for American neo-imperialistic intentions than either the US invasion of Korea (partly in 1945 in the South at the end of WWII – and then in the North between 1950-1953) and Vietnam (either covertly or overtly) between 1955-1975. The US mentality involves throwing bullets and money at problems – but considering the fact the US possessed weaponry of a far more advanced and destructive capability than the malnourished enemy (which carried rusty AK-47s – and were motivated by Islamic and Islamo-fascist ideology) – it is astonishing that after “20-years” – no military victory was won and no political socio-economic vision was accomplished. The US reduces countries to rubble (just look at Libya and Syria) – and refers to this wanton destruction as “freedom” (since 1945 to present – the US has killed around 30-million people around the world in the name of this “freedom”). When the Russians betrayed their Revolution in 1991 – the US was permitted to steal billions from the Soviet economy the workers had spent decades earning and establishing. Between 1991-2001 – around 10 million Russians died of starvation, homelessness, and medical neglect as a caring and uplifting Socialism was replaced by an uncaring (predatory) capitalism. This disaster was ignored in the West and viewed as “normal”. Only the rise of Putin saved the Russian people and put a post-Soviet Russia on an even keel.

On September 29th, 2025, the case was publicly pronounced in the first instance of the Intermediate People’s Court of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The court sentenced 11 defendants, including Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, Zhou Weichang, Wu Hongming, Wu Senlong, and Fu Yubin, to death; Yang Zhengxi, Fu Chengzhi and other five defendants were sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve; 11 defendants, including Luo Jianzhang and Qiu Zhi, were sentenced to life imprisonment. The 12 defendants, including Bi Huijun and Jiang Ji, were sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from 24 years to five years, and additional sentences such as fines, confiscation of property, and deportation were sentenced accordingly.

Iranian officials have linked the riots and terrorist acts to the US and the Israeli regime.

The US and Israel’s Mossad have admitted their involvement on the ground, with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeting, “Happy New Year to every Iranian in the streets. Also, to every Mossad agent walking beside them.”

In a Farsi-language social media post, Mossad encouraged rioters to “Go out together into the streets. The time has come,” adding that Mossad agents are with the rioters “not only from a distance and verbally. We are with [them] in the field.”
