St Albans Abbey: Clock-Tower & Exterior Structure! (29.5.2024)

Ordinary peasants and aristocracy would get out of bed in the morning, work, eat, rest and go to bed at night according to the dictates of the Roman Catholic Church – the monasteries of which usually followed the Rule of St Benedict – or some similar Rule. Ordinary people did not have to learn how to tell the time – as the monastic orders told them what to do and when to d it. Following the “Dissolution” – secular society had to build their own clocks and learn to tell the time for themselves. This is how the measuring of “time” was rescued from the control of the Church. After 1539 – time no longer served God – but rather the lay-society that paid for and possessed the technical skills to construct the clocks! The policies of King Henry VIII – as mad as he may or may not have been (he had around 70,000 men and women hanged during his reign) – ushered the “modern” Britain that we now live within. I doubt, however, that Henry would have envisioned the end of absolute monarchy or the trivialising of the Church!

Expressing expectation and belief that the school, wonderfully built as a political institution of the WPK representing the new era, would always remain faithful to its important and sacred mission of training the genuine backbone, the core Kimilsungists-Kimjongilists, and thus make a tangible contribution to strengthening and developing the WPK and its eternal prosperity, he gave instructions on making full preparations for its operation ahead of its opening ceremony and on organizing its inaugural ceremony in a great politically significant way. As immense wealth was generated through the labour of the exploited masses (which involved the development of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade) a privileged middle-class developed – particularly after the English Civil Wars of the 1640s. This development saw the successful transference of the control of the ‘means of production’ (and political power) from the Aristocracy (the upper-class) to the Bourgeoisie (the middle-class) and with it the unleashing of tremendous creative force (a process magnified enormously by the ‘discovery’ of the Americas and the effective stealing of immense tracts of ‘free’ land and other resources)! Of course, the spread of British power and influence throughout other countries of the world – including Africa and Asia – opened all kinds of diverse markets which spread commodities to the four corners of the earth!

Emails: St Kilda – Ancients British Celts, WWI, WWII, Human and Animal Tragedy! (17.9.2023)

Research suggests these people had lived on this isolated island for around 2000 years – as they spoke a very old Gaelic language mixed with the odd word of Latin and Norse! The island was attacked once by an Imperial German U-boat during Spring 1918 (which fired 60 artillery rounds at a British Telegraph Station) near the end of WWI. During WWII, after all the indigenous Celts had gone – my maternal grandfather – Arthur Gibson – (when serving in the Royal Navy on the Minesweeper – HMS Beaumaris Castle) was ordered onto the island of St Kilda (Hirta) after an aeroplane full of US Servicemen (who were returning home after fighting in Europe) -crashed into the high mountainside with no survivors.

The Case for Karl Marx NOT Being an Ethnic Jew! (2.7.2023)

His mother was the daughter of a Prussian (Christian) aristocrat. Marx would have experienced Judaism very much in the same objective manner that most non-Jews do – through the pages of academic books and perhaps the odd site-seeing tour. Indeed, Marx even penned an article addressing the so-called ‘Jewish Question’ – where he treats the presence (and activities) of Jews with an alarming frankness. This has led a number of commentators to treat Marx in something of a unique way, as he is simultaneously accused of being a Jew on the one-hand, and acting in an anti-Semitic (Secular) manner on the other!
