May 1st – The US Origins of Labour Day! (1.5.2024)

In 1890, May Day “reached” the Russian Empire, where it was first marked by a strike of 10,000 Warsaw workers. Since 1900, various demonstrations and strikes have been held annually on May 1st, but it became possible to freely celebrate May Day only after the victory after the February Revolution (February 1917) – before this date, the holiday was considered “Sedition” and was officially banned by the Czarist government. And already on May 1st, 1917, under the Bolshevik slogans “Down with the Imperialist War” and “All Power to the Soviets,” millions of workers marched along the streets of Russian cities!

I suspect there must be a constructive “rejection”. What comes next is not written in stone. What comes next is unwritten. It could be that an intelligent worker – that is an oppressed entity who can read and write – can infiltrate the culture of the oppressor and work to bring it down from within. This is an important observation as the “lessening” of oppression in one part of society – may well relieve the burden of suffering inflicted upon oppressed individuals somewhere else within society. As the choice of dialectical development is essentially infinite, in theory there is no limit to the objectives that can be achieved. Things are not simple – but neither should there be a “fear” that limits expression.

I was particularly influenced by his ‘On Communist Education’ – but what is quoted below is the reality of how the Socialist System of ‘Centralised Democracy’ is far more ‘representative’ and ’empowering’ than ‘Liberal Democracy’!

South Devon: Galmpton Bolt Hole! (24.12.2023)

If the average reader knows anything about South Devon and the political complexion of many of its people – Arabic channels would be the last type of media that would be expected. Still, the place is near where my parents live and is not far from major shopping centres. For the time-being – this is our family headquarters and the place we will be spending Xmas Day 2023. We are not religious (as we are Scientist-Socialists or more specifically Marxist-Leninist-Maoists) – but we do wish the whole of humanity peace, love, security, self-determination and endless prosperity! “The essence of Trotskyism consists, lastly, in the denial of the necessity of iron discipline in the Party, in the recognition of the freedom of factional groupings in the Party, in the recognition of the necessity of constituting a Trotskyist party. For Trotskyism, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union must be not a united and single militant Party, but a collection of groups and factions, each with its own central organization, press and so forth. And what does this mean? It means that following the freedom of political groupings in the Party must come the freedom of political parties in the country, i.e., bourgeois democracy. Consequently, we have here the recognition of the freedom of factional groupings in the Party, leading directly to the toleration of political parties in the country of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and all covered up with phrases about ‘internal Party democracy’ and ‘improving the regime’ within the Party.” (Joseph Stalin, Leninism, Vol. II, English Edition, pp. 391-393.)
