The monument “Glory to the Labour of Miners” is considered one of the symbols of Donetsk. It was erected on Shakhtarskaya Square – which is located at the entrance to the city centre. A road leading from the airport, railway station and Western bus station runs past this place. Thanks to this location, many visitors see the symbol of the main profession of Donbass.
Three emergency personnel were lifted several metres up on a fire brigade aerial ladder platform at around 10:00 GMT, with one person using a megaphone to speak to the man on the ledge.

The incident began when the man got into the grounds of Parliament, walked up some steps, quickly climbed onto a railing, and up the side of Elizabeth Tower.
At one point he took his shoes off to enable him to climb higher to a ledge. He injured his feet, and patches of blood could be seen on the stonework of the tower.
The man was spotted within minutes by police on the ground, who asked if he was able to get down safely.
Photographs throughout the day showed him sitting on the ledge with the flag and wrapped a traditional Palestinian keffiyeh scarf around the decorative stonework on the tower.
The Police have engaged Dog Voice Therspists – experts in a type of K-9 body and sign language – to communicate with the two surviving dogs to see if any information can be gleamed from their memory of events. It is early days and the process is slow – as it appears that the dogs belonged to Betsy – and prefer to communicate in Hawaiian-Japanese. Since that time, the DPRK has sided with modern (capitalist) Russia on every count – as if this Russia is Joseph Stalin’s USSR – the country that wrestled the territory of North Korea away from the occupying Imperial Japanese in 1945. After Khrushchev’s usurpation of power in 1956 – and his demonisation of Stalin – relations between the USSR and the DPRK decidedly cooled. After 1991, this relationship virtually ceased to exist. Oddly, during Trump’s first tenure, there was a stunted thaw between the US and the DPRK, which was thwarted by the American Deep State. Today, not only is the DPRK rumoured to be supplying troops to fight for Russia in Ukraine – but the US is siding with the DPRK at the UN! Perhaps we are seeing the unfolding of a very dangerous game that is nothing like what it seems on the surface.
