“This is what Israel is doing in Gaza. These are its war objectives. This is what the absence of a ceasefire is allowing it to continue doing,” he said, calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the region.

“It is deeply regretted that due to the use of the veto this council has once again failed to uphold its responsibility to maintain international peace and security,” Malta’s Ambassador Vanessa Frazier said after voting.

“It represented the bare minimum of what is needed to begin to address the desperate situation on the ground,” she added.

Guyana’s Ambassador Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett said that the suffering of Palestinians must end, adding that her country would continue to work with fellow council members to try to achieve tomorrow what could not be achieved today.

The envoy urged the Security Council to unequivocally request an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. “Israel should also let go of its obsession with the use of force and stop violations against other countries, including Lebanon, Syria, and Iran,” he said.

Moreover, Fu appealed for increased humanitarian assistance in Gaza and urged Israel to fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law to ensure the orderly distribution of supplies throughout Gaza.

In his remarks, Fu also stressed the two-state solution must be revitalized, which is the only viable way out for the Palestinian question and requires the guarantee of the international community more than ever.

By early 2024, over 25,000 tons of explosives—equivalent to two nuclear bombs—had been dropped on Gaza, causing massive destruction and the collapse of water and sanitation systems, agricultural devastation, and toxic pollution.

“By destroying vital water, sanitation and food systems, and contaminating the environment, Israel has created a lethal mix of crises that will inflict severe harm on generations to come,” the Committee said.

The report raises serious concerns about Israel’s use of AI-enhanced targeting systems in directing its military operations, and the impact it has had on civilians, particularly evident in the overwhelming number of women and children among the casualties.

Anyone remember the Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom who was killed by the Zionist entity in Gaza earlier this year? You would think the Australian government would hold the Zionist entity to account for killing it’s own citizen but until this day, there has been no accountability/retribution and better yet, they continue to be complicit in the genocide of our brothers and sisters in Gaza. What can you expect when this capitalist system values profit over human life even at the expense of its own citizens.
