Palestine: Dozens of Civilian Casualties in Gaza as Israel’s Genocide Marks 91 days! (5.1.2024)

At least five civilians were also killed and others injured in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the New Al-Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israeli artillery further targeted the areas of Al-Zawaida, Nuseirat, Maghazi, Al-Bureij in central Gaza, destroying the home of the Al-Louh family near the Wadi Gaza bridge.

In Gaza City, medical sources reported the arrival of the bodies of nine martyrs to Shifa Medical Complex due to Israeli airstrikes targeting residential neighbourhoods. The strikes included areas south of Juhor al-Dik and near Gaza seaport.

In a preliminary toll, the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 91st day has resulted in more than 22,430 fatalities, including 9,730 children and 6,830 women. Additionally, over 7,000 people are missing, and more than 57,600 are injured.

PRETORIA, Wednesday, January 3, 2023 (WAFA) – The International Court of Justice (ICJ) will hold its first hearing on Thursday, January 11, to consider the lawsuit filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel accusing it of crimes of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Spokesperson of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Clayson Monyela, said in a post on X that the hearing is scheduled for January 11th in The Hague and will continue until the next day. He stressed that his country is continuing with its preparations in this regard.

In a related context, South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor called for supporting her country’s genocide case against Israel.

She stressed that ‘we will never forget Palestine’ and will continue the struggle for freedom and justice of the Palestine people before the world to stop the genocide in Gaza, she said.

She stressed the need to struggle to help move the world that failed to stop the massacres committed against Palestinians and to prevent the Israeli occupation from continuing with its crimes.

She explained that the United Nations and its Security Council are thus unable to push the peace process forward and we must fight for action to stop the genocide.

These Israeli men and women receive the best military training available in the world (often in the US and UK), carry the most advanced and destructive weaponry, receive the best food and pay, and when injured – receive the most advanced medical care! When IDF Veterans retire, they receive ample financial rewards with many joining right-wing and fascist fighting forces outside Israel – such as the Neo-Nazi Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU)! The Palestinian freedom fighters have nowhere to go as they fight, die, and exist in the very earth from which their people have historically emerged! On the other hand, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Saturday, that the martyrs of the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip have reached 21,672, since the start of the war on October 7th 2023, and the toll includes the death of 165 people, and the injury of 250 others, during the past 24 hours.

The Ministry added that 56,165 people were injured as a result of the Israeli bombing since October 7th, noting that only 1% of the injured were taken out of the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.

Among the martyrs of the bombing were 312 Medical Personnel, according to the source, who also confirmed that 99 Health Personnel in the Gaza Strip are still in the custody of the Israeli Army.

The Ministry condemned the exposure of thousands of detainees in Israel to “physical and psychological torture, starvation, thirst, lack of sleep, and continuous interrogation in the extreme cold.”

“The Israeli army forced us to displace five times, from my house in Gaza City to Dier al-Balah City in the centre of the strip, and to eastern Khan Younis, and then to the western Khan Younis until reaching Rafah,” the 52-year-old mother of seven complained to Xinhua.

During her displacement journey, Mahani lost her husband, three sons, two daughters, and ten of her grandchildren in an Israeli attack targeting their residential block in Khan Younis city a few days ago.
