Yemen: NEW Missile-Attacks Launched Against Pro-Israeli Shipping! (14.6.2024)

Since last November, the Houthi group, which controls much of northern Yemen, has initiated the launch of anti-ship ballistic missiles and drones targeting what it said were Israeli-linked ships transiting the Red Sea, to show solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In response, the U.S.-British naval coalition stationed in the area has since January conducted air raids and missile strikes against Houthi targets to deter the group, which, however, only led to an expansion of Houthi attacks to include U.S. and British commercial vessels and naval ships.

As to whether the actual government of Yemen monitors this page I do not know – but the news stories have not been updated for nearly a year and appear oddly out of touch with the reality of everyday life. Whatever the case, at least the unelected Tories will see that not all British people support the criminal acts of their unelected (Tory) Junta! Finally, the (racist) Western media habit (mirrored here by Xinhua) is to draw a false distinction between the ‘Houthi’ people and the entire people of ‘Yemen’ – as if the popular government of Yemen (since 2014) does not represent the entirety of the Yemen people! Despite the Tory-ordered (illegal) acts perpetuated by the RAF – the Yemen State has still been able to freely fire missiles at ALL shipping assisting Zionist Israel in its ongoing genocide against Palestine.

The spokesman said the raids have resulted in the deaths of five people, with at least six being injured.

He strongly condemned the strikes and said the Houthis “will not hesitate to target all sources of threat.”

He also warned that the “American-British aggression will not go unanswered and unpunished.”

The spokesman reiterated the Houthis’ stance in support of the Palestinian cause, saying the raids “will not deter us from our position in support of the oppression of the Palestinian people.”

Additionally, the Houthi representative confirmed the rebel group will continue to prevent Israeli ships from navigating the Arabian and Red Seas.

Meanwhile, photos released by the Israeli military show Saar-class corvettes patrolling in the Red Sea, as the army confirmed missile boats were dispatched to the waters after Houthi forces in Yemen fired missiles and drones toward Israel’s resort city of Eilat.

In southern Lebanon, a 16-year-old Lebanese boy was killed in an Israeli drone strike, while two shepherds lost lives after being shot by Israeli forces, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.

The death toll from Hezbollah-Israeli confrontations since Oct. 8 rose to 63 on the Lebanese side, including 49 members of Hezbollah, in addition to nine members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Islamic Jihad in Lebanon, and five civilians.

On the diplomatic front, Bolivia has severed its diplomatic ties with Israel, citing the Palestinian death toll in Gaza. Meanwhile, Jordan, Chile, and Colombia have recalled their ambassadors.

Iran’s supreme leader on Wednesday urged Muslim governments to unite and stop oil and other exports to Israel to pressure the latter to cease its attacks on Gaza.

The situation in Yemen, in many practical ways, mirrors that of Palestine – the children of which have been facing bombs and bullets since 1947! This is all part of the ‘re-emerging’ and ‘normalising’ of the far-right across the world by the capitalist regimes (including currently the acceptance of Neo-Nazism in Western Ukraine)! End ‘capitalism’, end ‘fascism’ and end the devastation these two related ideologies inflict upon the world! A wrong approach is the path of political appeasement and the ignoring of the historical foundation of ‘why’ situations are what they are today!
