The reasons for this decline are many: job insecurity, mass emigration of young people, lack of support for working mothers and, as in other countries, rising male infertility. Furthermore, an increasing number of people are simply choosing not to have children.

The couple’s situation is unusual. Trabucco, a music teacher, was born in Frascati, near Rome, and worked in the capital for years before deciding to move to the village where her grandfather was born because she had always wanted to raise her family away from the chaos of the city. She met Bussi, a construction worker from the area, a few years ago.

Our admiration lies in his ability to restore dignity to a nation. Although I am critical of modern America – I cannot fault the brave men of the US who came to help England as we stood alone against an all-mighty Nazi Germany (most British people my age have grand-parents who fought in WWII). Of course, the Soviet Union joined the UK first (during late June, 1941) – with the US following shortly after Imperial Japan had attacked Pearl Harbour (in December, 1941). In fact, the UK had been fighting Nazi Germany since 1939 – and Imperial Japan in Burma (and elsewhere) also from late 1941. This is what the Imperial War Museum has to say about the Torcross Memorial:

China: Xinhua’s Think Tank Launches New Book on U.S. Mind Colonization, Military & Hegemony! (23.12.2025)

Published by Xinhua Publishing House, the book is a compilation of two think tank reports, namely one titled “Colonization of the Mind — The Means, Roots, and Global Perils of U.S. Cognitive Warfare” and the other “Origins, Facts and Perils of U.S. Military Hegemony.”

The report on U.S. mind colonization reveals the fact that the United States has long eroded other countries’ sovereignty through ideological penetration, undermining fairness and justice in international perceptions. The report was first released during the Global South Media and Think Tank Forum 2025 on Sept. 7.

The report on U.S. military hegemony explores the ideological roots, tools, and practices of U.S. military hegemony, as well as the damage it has inflicted on global security and stability. The report was first released on Sept. 5, 2023, and was later revised in light of the latest developments before being included in the newly published book.

A source close to the transport ministry insisted there would not be any “practical difference” in the new year – because people would still be able to send and receive letters, they would simply do so through a different company. Any significance around the change, they said, was purely “sentimental”.

But others have said there is an irreversible finality to it. Magnus Restofte, the director of the Enigma postal, the telecommunications and communications museum in Copenhagen, said in the event that it were no longer possible to use digital communications “It’s actually quite difficult to turn back [to physical post]. We can’t go back to what it was. Also, take into consideration we are one of the most digitalised countries in the world.”

Under the MitID scheme – Denmark’s national digital ID system, used for everything from online banking to signing documents electronically and booking a doctor’s appointment – all official communications from authorities are automatically sent via “digital post” rather than by mail.

Until the last day of his life, he provided me with his support, sending me writings, letters, alerts, and confidential criticisms. José Vicente was a great window for Venezuelans to understand the thinking and project of Commander Chávez. A leader who, since the 1960s, raised the banners of the left, the revolution, and the homeland. His legacy marked a historic era in social communication. Honour and eternal glory to the memory of José Vicente Rangel!
