The department’s fourth misleading statement came as it claimed – again in a footnote – that 70 per cent of the increase in the number of disabled people receiving the health element of universal credit and ESA in the past five years “was not expected by the Department”.

But it failed to mention the impact of the pandemic, with research by the respected Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) – published the previous day – finding that “mental health has worsened since the pandemic”, which was “consistent with rising disability benefit claims for mental health”.

The IFS report found that “deaths of despair” – those attributed to alcohol, drugs and suicide – rose by 24 per cent in England and Wales in 2023, compared with the 2015-19 pre-pandemic average.

GAZA/JERUSALEM, March 18 (Xinhua) — The Israeli army conducted on Tuesday intense airstrikes on the northern and central Gaza Strip, marking the most violent escalation since the ceasefire, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.

Palestinian medical and security sources told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes launched raids of unprecedented scale, triggering successive explosions in several areas of northern and central Gaza.

The sources said that the Israeli army has killed over 200 Palestinians in the coastal enclave.

In an initial statement, the Palestinian Civil Defense said that Israeli aircraft targeted homes, mosques, schools and shelters, resulting in significant casualties.

The British Labour government has co-operated with the fascist government of the US – to support the “Genocide” the Zionist Israelis are currently committing in Gaza. This action has been taken by the supporters of Israeli “Genocide” because the Yemeni people have dared to exclude all Israeli shipping from the part of the Red Sea that belongs to Yemen. As the Israeli State operates on “greed” – it cannot tolerate any interference with trade. Despite the immense weapon technology deployed against them – the Yemeni people have once again withstood this terrorist attack – and have militarily “responded” to it!

These horrific crimes and massacres, which are part of a long series of gross human rights violations, once again confirm the danger of obscurantist ideology to the Syrian people and the peoples of the region. They also confirm its role in fragmenting and dividing the region to serve the interests of American imperialism and global Zionism. This oppressive, medieval ideology continues to impose its repressive policies, ignoring any humanitarian or legal considerations. The systematic targeting of the people of the proud Syrian coast, who have suffered and continue to suffer from the scourge of war and tyranny, is a flagrant violation of all international values and norms and represents a crime added to the long record of crimes committed by these killers. The Palestinian Communist Party calls on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action to hold those responsible for this crime accountable. This was just before the internet and mobile ‘phones – but you can see where his thinking was leading him. The post-Socialist and post-Soviet space, according to Osman, must be filled with abject fear and terror so that the masses become so scared of authority that they will can never unite together and develop a class consciousness that challenges that authority. This Islamo-fascist ideology has transplanted well into modern times (using the internet to broadcast murder videos) and is used all over the world by Islamic movements either paid for by the US and Israel to murder their political opponents – or disaffected breakaway groups that now target the US (but never Israel) with the weapons the Americans have already provided them with.
