Trump had promised during his presidential campaign to end the conflict in 24 hours after assuming office. In reality, it has turned out to be a far more complicated issue than he expected because of the totally diverse conditions laid out by the parties involved.

The Biden administration had repeatedly rejected ceasefire and peace talks because its goal was to weaken, and ultimately defeat, Russia. The European Union had been parroting the same rhetoric in the recent past. But once Trump took office, EU politicians, too, started talking about a ceasefire and putting an end to the conflict, in order to please Trump.

The ceasefire conditions that are acceptable to Trump and the EU leaders are also quite different. Many Europeans believe that the conditions laid out by Trump mean Russia will emerge the winner. That’s why when Trump, Vice-President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth all ruled out NATO membership for Ukraine, no EU leaders were willing to accept that scenario, at least publicly.

However, Biden’s policy has back-fired as the poverty and suffering did not remain only in Europe but has spread to the US – whilst the intended victim – Russia – simply redirected its economic alliances elsewhere, with its economy now booming. Russia has basically reinvigorated its old Soviet alliances – despite rejecting them after 1991. Russia has also cosied-up to China. The problem the US has – is that it has nowhere to go – except down. There are no alternative alliances – it is domination or collapse. Trump’s tariffs are exactly the wrong policy as the US is losing dominance and other countries are following the example of Russia!

This has led to a situation whereby the Western media cannot take the side of the beleaguered Palestinians – so it merely ‘stops’ reporting the details of Zionist terrorism as it is having the opposite effect to that intended.

Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to the head of Crimea, said there’s enough fuel and food on the peninsula and all logistics plans have been worked out.

The incident on the Crimean Bridge was a special operation carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the Interfax-Ukraine news agency cited its source in Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies as saying. The SSU hasn’t commented on the incident yet.

Kiev’s reaction to the destruction of civilian infrastructure testifies to its “terrorist nature,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Telegram.
