Russia: Kremlin Ready to Develop Ties with DPRK in All Fields! (18.1.2024)

DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui arrived in Moscow on Sunday. He held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, and they both met with Russian President Vladimir Putin shortly after they reached agreements following negotiations.

“The discussion was generally about bilateral relations, the situation on the Korean Peninsula,” Peskov said, adding that international issues were also covered.

“We have repeatedly said … that the DPRK is our very important partner. We are aimed at developing relations in all areas, including sensitive ones,” Peskov noted.

The clauses stipulate work to create an atmosphere of friendship and collaboration, while supporting the professional development of diplomatic personnel from both countries.

The text also stipulates the organization of diplomatic visits and consultations at various levels to enhance dialogue and cooperation on matters of mutual interest and concern.

These visits may involve exchanges between diplomats, experts and government officials to foster a deeper understanding of each country’s foreign policy priorities, the agreement predicts.

The document signing ceremony was attended by Vice Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh, the directors of the Foreign Ministry, the ambassadors and heads of the diplomatic missions of the Latin American countries accredited in Syria, as well as the Cuban diplomats in the island’s mission in Syria.

He added that the cooperation between China and Iran throughout history had led to the creation of superb artworks, stressing in recent years, cultural exchanges and collaborations between the two countries had witnessed significant growth.

The President of the Iranian Academy of Arts Majid Shah-Hosseini stressed the longstanding friendship as well as cultural and artistic relations between the two ancient civilizations, which have been reflected in the artworks of the two countries’ artists since a long time ago.

During the ceremony, Iranian and Chinese musicians performed music pieces, some of which were played on celadon wares.

The International Olympic Committee evaluated Honorary Member Jang Woong – who has been serving as a member of the International Olympic Committee since 1996 and as an honorary member since 2019 – for his efforts in creating a platform for goodwill and understanding through sports.

The Olympic Medal is the highest decoration granted by the International Olympic Committee – awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the Olympic Movement.
