Cuba Remembers Socialist Soldiers!

Cuba: “Defenders of the Homeland” & “Soviet Internationalist Soldiers” Remembered! (24.2.2025)

During his speech, the Defense Attaché, Captain 1st Rank Valery N. Zubarev, thanked their Cuban friends for their efforts to preserve the Mausoleum where the remains of Soviet soldiers who died fighting in Cuba rest, and highlighted the special and friendly nature of their bilateral relations. In his speech, the Head of the Directorate of Educational Institutions of the FAR, Brigadier General Juan Antonio Sánchez Fabré, highly valued the solidarity and assistance provided to the Island by the USSR since the first days of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, as well as recalled the contribution of the USSR (and Russia) to the creation of the professional army of the Cuban Republic.

Trump Makes His Mark in London!

London: Chinese New Year Dim Sum (Yum Cha)! (26.1.2025)

We knew that the Saturday before Chinese New Year would mean that London’s Chinatown (Gerrard Street) would be packed so we got early (ish) to get out on the road by around 10am (early for a Saturday). We drove to Morden Tube Station (Northernline) and headed into Central London (Leicester Square). Actually, although busy, I think the crowd numbers were down on previous (pre-Covid) years! Still, less crowds equals less stress – although the staff of the New Loon Fung Restaurant were on edge – expecting a massive influx for “Dim Sum” (Chinese breakfast)!

Homeless in Paris!

France: La Gaîté Lyrique Théâtre [The Lyrical Gaiety] – Demonstrates Solidarity with the Belleville Park Youth Collective [Collectif des Jeunes du Parc de Belleville]! (17.1.2025)

Due to the occupation of the building, and in the absence of solutions proposed by the competent authorities, the Gaîté Lyrique is currently unable to maintain the conditions allowing the reception of the public in its spaces. The decision has been taken to keep the building closed: scheduled events are cancelled, postponed or relocated to partner venues until further notice.

Oxygen & Y-Fronts!

Mount Everest: Oxygen, Spoons, Y-Fronts, Mallory & Irvine – My Xmas Address! (24.12.2024)

As the “Nationalists” had taken over China in 1911 – there is absolutely NO negative anti-China tropes at any point in the English narrative – either in the early 1920s – or from the contemporary author, which is incredible when you consider the “Nationalists” destroyed the five-thousand year-old Imperial System! The “Nationalists” evolved away from their original leftwing base (under Sun Yatsen) – and morphed into a pro-Japanese, and pro-capitalist entity – chopping-off the heads of thousands who disagreed. Tibet was part of China then as of now – but Mallory discusses only the Office of the Dalai Lama being the Authorities the British had to negotiate with (whilst in reality this Office continuously liaised with Beijing). When British explorers visited Buddhist monasteries without permission from Lhasa – the Dalai Lama (the 13th I believe) would summon the offending Abbot (Head Monk) to Lhasa to have his eyes plucked-out using the old trusty “Ceremonial Spoon” (first offense) in private. If he persisted in his criminal behaviour (defined as “promiscuous compassion”) – he would be “skinned alive” (second offence) in public – with his dead body NOT hacked-up and fed to the vultures.

Communist Party of Palestine!

Gaza: Communist Party of Palestine Serves the People – Israel Coninues Its US-Backed “Genocidal” Against the People! (19.12.2024)

In light of the difficult circumstances that our Palestinian people are going through in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing criminal war, today our comrades in the Gaza Organization of our Palestinian Communist Party took the initiative to prepare and distribute food parcels to a number of affected families.

Gee's Birthday Treat - Cornish Cream Tea!

UK: Gee’s Birthday Treat – Cornish Cream Tea! (5.12.2024)

The box is delivered by a private Courier and contains four scones, four pots of jam, four tea-bags, two-bags of biscuits, and a pot of clotted cream! We breakout the best China tea-pot and tea-cups and saucers to consume this magnificent gift! As my parents live in Devon, we often visit nearby Cornwall and appreciate the history and old buildings. Cornwall is essentially a “Celtic” region of the UK with kilts, bagpipes and a Gaelic language all of its own!
