At the end of January, more than six years after his death, the United States Department of Justice finally released more than three million pages of FBI investigation files into Epstein, plus 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. An additional three million pages are being withheld, the DOJ said, due to sensitive material, victims’ rights, and legal privilege.

The released files, though incomplete, revealed some of the architecture of Epstein’s illegal operation. It was more than a sex-trafficking ring to lure the rich and the powerful, analysts and experts said, it was a sophisticated system of social engineering designed to procure money and impunity through proximity to power.

Epstein was born into an ordinary Jewish family — his mother was a homemaker and his father worked as a landscaper for the City of New York. He was good at math and played piano well. Both talents helped him later charm people.

This will not be the last time something like this happens – the White House has taken it down, blaming a junior staffer – which is odd as we are told Trump does all his own posting and it went up at midnight – but at least it’s not up there anymore.

But the damage has been done, whatever mask there may have been has slipped.

The test for all of us now comes in how we respond the next time it happens.

Donald Trump has not apologised for the video, shared on his Truth Social account, depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, saying “I didn’t make a mistake”.

The post was deleted around 12 hours after being shared.

The US president said “of course” he condemned the racist parts of the video.

In 1973, the Department of Justice sued Donald Trump and his father for alleged racial discrimination at Trump housing developments in New York. The case was settled two years later with no admission of guilt.

The five men wrongly convicted of raping a woman in Central Park have sued Donald Trump on accusations of making “false and defamatory” statements during a presidential debate against former vice president Kamala Harris in 2024.

Mr Trump has tried to have the lawsuit dismissed, but has so far been unsuccessful.

The article quoted Wolff as suggesting that the Dalai Lama’s appearance at the event was likely related to financial interests. It also claimed that the Dalai Lama attended and spoke at an event organized by the controversial group NXIVM in 2009, allegedly receiving one million U.S. dollars in compensation.

Epstein, a U.S. financier with extensive ties to political and business elites in the United States and Europe, was convicted in 2008 of soliciting a minor for prostitution. He was arrested again in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges and died in prison the following month, with authorities ruling his death a suicide.

The DOJ announced in January that it was releasing more than 3 million pages of files on Epstein over a month after the deadline that the U.S. Congress set for it to release all related files. However, it has not issued detailed explanations regarding the nature or significance of individual names mentioned in the materials.

Beyond the UNSC, dozens of countries, including Brazil, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, and others, issued public condemnations, framing the action as a breach of international norms rather than legitimate law enforcement. Governments across Africa and Asia warned that the operation undermined the post-1945 international legal order. UN officials cautioned that treating extraterritorial criminal law as a justification for military force set a dangerous precedent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a formal statement strongly condemning the US military attack on Venezuela, labeling it a clear act of aggression and a blatant violation of Venezuelan sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Latin American reactions were mixed. Bolivia, Cuba, and Nicaragua denounced the raid and reaffirmed support for Maduro’s legitimacy. In Cuba, mass demonstrations equated the operation with neo-imperialist aggression. This being the case, why does the UN – and its constituent members – suddenly find it so unpalatable when the US behaves like the rogue Zionist regime it finances? Whilst the US denies free healthcare to its own citizens – the US also finances completely free healthcare for every Israeli citizen (this is also true for South Korea, Taiwan and Japan – key US players in the region). Given that the US has imported Neo-Nazism into Ukraine and fought a proxy-war since 2014 – why shouldn’t Trump act in this lawless manner toward Venezuela? What political or military mechanism is there to stop him? None. Obama destroy a Socialist Libya, installed the Maidan Junta in Kyiv, and began the destruction of Syria. Obama was one of the worst US warmongers – but is fondly remembered for a second-rate health system and free mobile phones. You see my point. Free health, of course, is one of the main principles of any Socialist System, and this fact demonstrates the cynical nature of US foreign policy around the world.

The United States conducted “criminal strikes against the people of Venezuela,” the ambassador said, noting that the objective was to exert control over the country’s natural resources.

The U.S. military launched a series of attacks against Venezuela early Saturday morning, during which Maduro was captured and flown out of the country along with his wife. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said Maduro will face trial in the United States.

The military action against the South American nation has drawn widespread international condemnation, with multiple countries calling for a coordinated global response.
