Be that as it may, I have learned from scholars such as EH Carr, Alexander Werth, and Grover Furr what the facts are about the history and purpose of the Soviet Union. Just as the lies are complex and involved – the scholarship that exposes the lies is diverse and engaging. Everything must be correctly re-examined, deconstructed, and re-constructed back into its proper context. These eleven Grover Furr titles are a work in progress. The available source texts from time portray and reveal this reality. There is no talk of pogroms, gulags, oppressions and purges – although it is true that the US took the side of Trotsky. How odd it is then, to bear witness to a deluge of post-1945 texts which serve to construct an alternative history that would have the unsuspecting reader to believe that whilst Roosevelt was chatting with Stalin and Harpo was making Soviet Generals ‘laugh’ – that most of the population of the USSR lived in Prison Camps and that Stalin was personally involved in a famine he had deliberately caused in (Catholic) West Ukraine! Interestingly, the US Philosopher – Will Durant – who could not read, write or speak Russian, visited the USSR in 1933 (the year of Roosevelt’s Diplomatic Mission) – and claimed a Russian peasant woman stated to him that life was terrible. When asked to produce this woman, he could not – and neither could he explain how he understood or communicated with this woman. Durant appears to be a foreshadowing of the disinformation that was to come out of the US – post-1945.
This is a good thing as lack of choice generates a better usage of available resources and retains honesty. The point is that a limit to choice keeps the available resources both pure and respectable! Thank goodness for the excellent work of Grover Furr! The liars and decievers will not prevail and the genuine history of the USSR will be preserved and made known!
In his work Gramsci talked of taking over already existing Bourgeois establishments and ‘transforming’ them from within. In this method, Gramsci seemed to be advocating that an outright external (disruptive) Revolution was not required in the material world – only through a slow but continuous process of internal ‘gutting’ which sees the Bourgeois innards fully extracted and replaced with Proletariat equivalents! For Gramsci, the Revolution happens right under the nose of the Bourgeoisie – who cannot resist or prevent it because they possess NO idea that it is happening!
