Ryukyu: Studying the ‘Okinawa’ Name! (22.2.2024)

I was asked about the history and meaning of the name ‘Okinawa’ and ‘Ryukyu’ – both Japanese in origin – but premised upon older Chinese ideograms. At the above link, there is my research regarding the forensic study of the ideograms involved and my conclusions premised upon these findings. The term ‘Okinawa’ appears to be a post-1872 CE construct – at least in regard to the forming of the Japanese Prefecture of that name. Generally, Chinese literature does not use this term – but prefers the far older ‘Lu Qiu’ designation which dates back around 1500-years.

The traditional Year in China actually stands at “4722” at the moment since the passing of the Yellow Emperor – who is believed to have ruled Central China for at least one-hundred years! The Yellow Emperor invented medicine, clothing, housing, medicine, philosophy and hunting, etc, including divination and acting in accordance with the “Way” (Dao) of nature.

As matters stand, the National Trust charges around £35 for a family of four to look around the interior of the house – but does not want the general public to know that anyone can walk around the gardens and exterior of the house free of charge. This explains why each visitor is requested to ‘Book’ a parking-space prior to being permitted to look around the house – and some of the Staff in the house act in a bizarre and suspicious manner when ‘guests’ (which might not be ‘paying’ to enter the house) gravitate toward the front-door of the mansion! Let’s face it, if all these stolen artefacts were given back to their rightful owners – the National Trust would be showing paying visitors around rooms containing only British-made table and chairs!

This demonstrates that before the development of advanced human society – communality was (and remains) the basis of human evolution. The modern emphasis on individuality is a cult-like worship of a temporary (artificial) state of affluence. It is hardship that is the normal condition as this possesses the resources for every species to potentially develop given the right conditions. Affluence is the product of the intelligent use of human greed. The agency for this explanation surrounds the UK publishing industry in the light of a hostile US take-over and its subversion due to the auspices of US anti-intellectualism and the triumph of superficial style over substance. The British Historian and author – Matthew Bradford – is replaced by the US-publishing construct of ‘Matt Brand’ – whose father was a “Shepherd who looked after sheep…” – whilst his mother was a “Māori Medicine Woman!”
