Impounded UK Fishing Boat!

France: UK Fishing-Boat “Impounded” – Hindering Migrant Dinghys? (27.5.2025)

Shadow home secretary Chris Philp said they had failed to stop thousands of migrants crossing the Channel in small boats, accusing France of “taking no action whatsoever at sea and often ushering the illegal immigrants into UK waters”.

“Yet when a UK fishing vessel is in French waters all of a sudden they are magically able to act. If the French can now intercept boats then they should start stopping the boats with illegal immigrants – as international law obliges them to do.”

The UK and the EU have struck a deal that covers fishing, trade, defence, energy and strengthening ties in a number of policy areas still up for negotiation.

A key part of the deal involves giving European fishing boats a further 12 years of access to British waters in exchange for easing some trade frictions.

Critics from the Conservatives and Reform UK described the deal as a “surrender” to the EU, while the Liberal Democrats said the government had taken some “positive first steps” to rebuilding ties with Europe.

Confederate Artillary

CSA: The Bravery of John Pelham’s “Creole” Cannoniers at the [1862] Battle of Fredericksburg! (17.2.2025)

Despite using good terrain to the maximum advantage, Pelham’s single cannon was still far in advance of the Confederate frontline. Firing at the Union flank meant each cannon-ball smashed through multiple ranks of soldiers – hitting side-on. It was a dangerous gamble – but one which paid-off because Pelham was a competent Officer and his “Creole” crew superb when under fire. A Union Pennsylvanian Infantry Regiment started to take ridiculous numbers of casualties as Pelham’s cannon balls smashed there way through life and limb. However, Pelham only managed to fire three rounds before Union return fire stated coming in. At one-point, as Union rounds were landing, the Louisiana “Creole” crew began to sing the French “La Marseillaise” in defiance. Within minutes, hundreds of Union cannons, both near and far, were returning fire into the general direction, even though the lay of the land often prevented a clear line of sight. The reality was that the Union forces only had to land just one well-placed shot to destroy the single Confederate cannon and neutralise most of its crew. Pelham had chosen his position so well that despite the weight of return fire – the Union artillery found it very difficult to score a direct hit.

China Manned Space Agency (CMSA)

China: Logos Unveiled for 3 “Socialist” Space Missions in 2025! (20.1.2025)

According to the CMSA, crews for the Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 missions will consist of three astronauts each. Shenzhou-20 is set to dock with the radial port of the space station’s core module, while Shenzhou-21 will dock with its front port.

The main tasks of the astronauts will include extravehicular activities, cargo outbound deliveries via the station’s cargo airlock module, and the conducting of space science experiments and technology tests.

In the second half of 2025, China plans to launch the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in its southern Hainan Province. This mission will deliver supplies for astronauts, propellants to ensure the space station’s operation, various types of payloads, and more.

China’s manned space station project has entered its application and development stage — with two manned spacecraft missions and one to two cargo missions planned annually.

WWII: How Powerful Was the World’s Largest Artillary Gun? Thousands Operated It – Whilst One Shell Weighed Seven-Tonnes! (21.11.2024)

This stemmed from Joseph Stalin advocating that the tactical mode of conventional “artillery attack” could be effective if used in a massive, highly focused, and overwhelming manner. Massed (smaller) Soviet artillery guns had the effect of successfully suppressing the fire-power of the Nazi German Army by peppering its formations in a relentless and destructive manner (massacring the Gustav Ground Crews and destroying the stockpiles of stored ammunition). This increased the survival rate of the numerically superior Soviet Red Army – and quickly defeated the Nazi German enemy. Therefore, the Soviet Military Factories operated at full capacity and manufactured a large number of weapons and ammunition for the Soviet Red Army on the front line, including 90,000 artillery pieces of various types.
