Laos: Mooncake Festival Celebrated with Chinese Poetry! (14.9.2024)

Speaking at the event, Vice President of the NUOL Thongsouk Keomany said this event has built a platform for Lao teachers and students to appreciate the friendly cooperation between Laos and China, further enhancing the traditional friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.

Li Yiping, director of the China Cultural Centre in Laos, said this was the first time that the China Cultural Centre in Laos and the NUOL jointly organized the poetry event “Viewing the Same Moon Together — Reading Poems for the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival,” which promotes the traditional Chinese culture and Chinese poetry into campuses and among Lao youth.

Li emphasized that it is important to promote cultural exchanges between China and Laos.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, taking place annually on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, will be observed on Sept. 17 this year.

China: Friendships Forged in Gold at Paris Paralympics! (9.8.2024)

At the closing ceremony, swimmer Jiang Yuyan and track and field athlete Di Dongdong served as flag bearers for the Chinese delegation. The night before, at Paris La Defense Arena, 19-year-old Jiang shattered the world record in the women’s 100-meter backstroke S6 final with a time of 1:19.44, claiming her seventh gold medal at the Paris Paralympics.

“Standing on that podium, watching the flag rise and hearing the (national) anthem play because of my own hard work — it’s a feeling of pride and fulfillment that’s hard to describe,” Jiang said. “I often sing the anthem as loud as I can, I wonder if you can hear me.”

The Chinese delegation reaffirmed its dominance in swimming, athletics, table tennis, fencing and badminton, securing 22 gold medals in swimming and 21 in athletics.

Paralympic pool prodigy Guo Jincheng, who is easily recognizable with his shaved head and no swimming cap, competed in nine events, bringing home four gold and two silver medals.

China: Door “Closed” on the International Adoption of Chinese Children! (6.9.2024)

After China’s Reform and Opening Up of the early 1980s, Americans adopted thousands of Chinese orphans, which on the surface became a good story in the history of Sino-US exchanges, but which was used by the US to cast all kinds of negative allegations onto the the Chinese Socialist System. Even before this – from the second half of the 19th century to the 1930s – there was also a social trend of large-scale adoption of Chinese orphans in the US, known as the “Orphan Train Movement”. This is odd – as the “Chinese Exclusion Act” was passed by the US government in 1882 – designed to keep all Chinese people “OUT” of the US! This was the first Act in history to exclude a group of people entirely premised on their “race” – and is an Act that has been subsequently used across the Western world as a template for all xenophobic legislation.

Paris Para-Olympics: BBC Celebrates “Non-Chinese” Victory! (6.9.2024)

The BBC “celebrates” that the “Chinese” Para-Olympic Athlete – Gao Gang (高芳) – was defeated, not as an opposing sportsperson, but simply because she happens to be “Chinese”! The reality is that the capitalist West does not value people with disability – as their minds and bodies are considered “unexploitable” from a typical commercial perspective – or if exploitable, to a far lesser degree then a person considered “able”, and so on. This is why the capitalists have referred to disabled people as being “Invalids” – that is a “person without validity”. Nothing has changed in essence – despite much appearing to change on the surface. I fully support all people with disabilities – including Sammi Kinghorn (what an achievement) – but I do not accept BBC racism disguised as sporting commentary. Furthermore, people with disabilities are stronger joining together in an “Internationalist” collective – rather than separating into competing camps of Bourgeois spite, pettiness, and reaction. Socialist China values people with disabilities – the capitalist West does not – and this is demonstrated through the PRC’s total domination of the Medal Table at the Paris Para-Olympics!

China: Socialist Plan Focuses on Care of “Migrant Children”! (5.9.2024)

The government has adopted a “zero tolerance” policy toward any behavior that infringes on the rights of migrant children, especially violence, sexual assault, school bullying and cybercrime.

Li Feng, an official from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, emphasized the need for interagency cooperation to protect children’s rights.

“We will urge parents or guardians to fulfill their duties and provide family education guidance whenever we find any behavior that harms children’s rights,” Li said. “We will also work closely with civil affairs bureaus to support migrant children who live alone without proper guardianship.”

Li added that procuratorates will offer judicial aid to migrant children involved in criminal cases and provide financial allowances as needed. For children who have been victims of assault, they will provide living support and psychological assistance.
