6,000 Year Old Coffins in China!

China: Earliest-Known Wooden Coffins Unearthed in Henan! (12.9.2025)

Since 2023, the Henan institute has been conducting archaeological excavations at the site. Its latest research has confirmed that it was a moat-encircled settlement that covered an area of 65,000 square meters, with distinct functional zones located within its boundaries.

“In the central burial area, we have identified a total of over 200 tombs, among which 10 show evidence of wooden coffins,” said Li Jindou, excavation field director at the Jiahu site. Some of the coffins measured about 2 metres in length, 0.6 metres in width and 0.06 meters in thickness, Li noted.

“Soil analysis from their burial context revealed a significantly high concentration of lignin compared to the surrounding areas,” Li said.

According to the institute, the vast majority of tombs in the site’s central burial area contain funerary objects, including bone flutes, turquoise artifacts and pottery, some of which exhibit exceptionally fine craftsmanship.

In addition to the wooden coffins, archaeologists have recently uncovered over 20 bone flutes, with one tomb being the first-known instance of five flutes buried in a single grave.

Venice Lion Chinese Tomb Guardian

Italy: Study Finds Winged Lion of Venice Has “Chinese” Origin! (11.9.2025)

It would seem that between the Tang and (Islamic) Yuan Dynasties (around six-hundred years) this Lion sat dutifully outside a temple (or a tomb) – before being transported to the West and extensively “altered” to suit Western sensitivities – although it is highly likely that very few Europeans knew what an African (or “Indian”) lion actually looked like. Most Chinese lions I have seen are sat-down and I have never seen such an object stood-up on all fours. It would be interesting to see what the Lion in question looked like before the alterations. Finally, it is interesting that the British author (and former Submarine Commander in the Royal Navy) – Gavin Menzies (1937-2020) – wrote a book entitled “1434: The Year a Chinese Fleet Sailed to Italy and Ignited the Renaissance” (2008). He discusses the Chinese delegation that met with Pope Eugenius IV in Florence (1434) – and suggests that China had some type of diplomatic connection with the City States (which included Venice). Those who criticise Menzies’ work – are the same people who would never have allowed for idea that St Mark’s Lion could be of a “Chinese” origin. Given that this Lion arrived in Venice around 1264 – this Chinese Mission would have occurred only 166-years later.

Master Zhao Ming Wang & Disciples - Beijing

Beijing: Qianfeng Daoism Seeks World Heritage Site Designation! (10.9.2025)

From what I have seen from the photographs and footage Western travellers have shown me – Master Zhao lives near the Great Wall of China – and always seems to take his guests to this wonderful location. The Zhao Family Home is situated near (or on the boundary with) the mountainous areas of rural Beijing. Daoist “neidan” practice, as well as Taijiquan, is often practiced in these beautiful environs. Of course, Daoist practice is both “easy” and “difficult”. However, if a curious person is interested in Daoist practice, a good place to start is by reading the Dao De Jing (Tao Te Ching) – or “Way Virtue Class”. This may be coupled with the practice of any form of Taijiquan (or internal martial arts – such as Bagua Zhang/Quan or Xinyi-Xingyi), etc. Much progress can be made in a foundational manner until more specific instruction can be gained from a qualified Daoist Master.

Youths Against Corrupt Lead the Protests!

Nepal: Social Media Ban Leads to Mass Protests! (8.9.2025)

The Nepalese government (the Social Democratic Nepali Congress) began blocking multiple US social media platforms not registered in the country last week, including Facebook, X, and YouTube. The government stated that US social media users create fake identities to spread hate speech, fake news, and commit fraud (as well as other crimes) on these US platforms – undermining the safety and independence of the country. Access will be restored if these US-owned platforms recognise Nepali State sovereignty and comply Nepal State Law.
