My academic (and Ch’an) teacher – Richard Hunn (Upasaka Wen Shu) – lived into his 57th year and was struck-down by cancer far too early (passing in 2006)! I suspect I will last a few years yet – but we never can tell! Still, I rise early to perform my academic and spiritual duties. Although now married with children – I have permission to still wear the black-robe of the Caodong Ch’an School – and to carry the Dust-Whisk of Authority. Of course, the only authority I possess is over my own mind and body. Oh, and I love The Beatles!

DPRK: Grandmother Chae Sun Nam [채순남] Reaches 100-Years Old! (14.5.2024)

Chae expressed deep thanks to Kim Jong Un after receiving the birthday spread amid the congratulations of officials of the Wiwon County Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, family members, relatives and villagers.

She underwent the sorrow of a stateless nation before the liberation of Korea. She came to enjoy a happy life under the care of the Party which built a genuine people’s country and has pursued the politics of love for the people.

She worked hard by cultivating land with a single mind to repay the Party’s benevolence with increased grain production and had done good things for the country even after becoming a pensioner.

Saying that she is spending the rest of her life in good health under the people-oriented policies of the Party and the state, she asked her descendants to do more work for the country. (End)

Pennybridge Alpaca Farm – Mei-An’s 12th Birthday Present! (11.5.2024)

Although we initially arranged to walk three Alpacas between the four of us – it soon became apparent that two was more than enough to handle – as Kai-in was too young to handle one of these animals by herself. Mei-An, as a 12 year old – handled her Alpaca (Caesar) very well – before I took over at the half-way point. Gee and Kai-Lin walked “Percy”. Alpacas are herd animals and do not like being separated or individually man-handled. They often spit and will stand still if they do not like what is going on – so steady as you go – like sailing a ship on unpredictable waters! We think Kai-Lin’s brightly coloured dress might have alarmed the Alpacas as they seem slightly agitated when Kai-Lin came to close. Still, she did quite well regardless, and none of the Alpacas “kicked” – as these backward kicks to human groins and chins have been known to be quite deadly in the past!

Mei-An – Happy 12th Birthday! (8.5.2024)

I was forced to go out and purchase extra food – little did I know at the time that Gee would end-up working as a NHS Midwife – albeit in another London Hospital! Gee’s waters partially broke on Saturday evening – but as this was her first baby – she was not sure about what was happening. As matters transpired, it took until Tuesday morning for the waters to fully break – and that was following medical intervention. Just prior to the birth – Gee was practicing Taijiquan in the Room! Twelve-years on, Mei-An is a student of Nonsuch School for Girls!

They wished Siphadone and his spouse good health, happiness and longevity to stay alongside the Lao Party and State leaders in steering the nation toward even greater achievements in renovation, national construction and defence; successfully implementing the Resolution of the LPRP’s 11th National Congress, and building a country that is peaceful, independent, democratic, united, and prosperous towards the goal of Socialism.

Chongqing: China Remembers 140th Anniversary of General Stilwell’s Birth! (10.8.2023)

As a consequence, the presence of Stilwell reminds the world of a more enlightened time in US foreign policy. The ‘Stilwell Museum’ is situated in ‘Chongqing’ – whilst ‘Stilwell Town’ is to be found at the Qinglong section of the Yunnan-Guizhou Highway. Chongqing was formerly part of South-East Sichuan province until 1997 (when it became an ‘Independent Municipality’) – whilst Qinglong county is located in the South-West of Guizhou province. Therefore, the ‘Stilwell Museum’ and ‘Stilwell Town’ are situated around 422 miles apart and should not be confused. Remember, so stubborn and difficult to defeat was the Kwantung Army of Imperial Japan – that the US requested that the Soviet Red Army should intercede and enter North-East China during late 1945 – which it did to great military success! By 1950, the US was rewarding this Soviet sacrifice by broadcasting propaganda lies stating the Red Army had committed endless ‘atrocities’! The Chinese people, of course, have the utmost respect for the USSR and its defeat of Imperial Japan – as once again it was the Soviets that saved the world from fascism!
