Taiwan: “Silent” Monuments Commemorate Chinese Resistance [1895-1945] to Imperial Japanese Occupation! (19.10.2025)

The Japanese encountered the largest scale resistance in the mountainous Changhua County in central Taiwan. In August 1895, thousands of local militia gathered alongside remnants of the Qing army to resist the Japanese on a local hill named Baguashan.

They were outnumbered five to one and poorly armed but fought relentlessly for days, killing over 1,000 Japanese soldiers, including a general, before being overwhelmed. Fewer than 50 survived.

One of the leaders, Xu Xiang, left behind words that still stir the heart: “If this land falls, Taiwan is lost. I will not live to see the motherland again.”

The Women’s Militia Unit First Appeared in the National Day Parade in 1958, Marching Through Tiananmen Square

China: PLA Women’s Militia Unit – History of Fighting & Marching in National Military Parades! (4.9.2025)

The Militia participating in this Parade was drawn from 15 provinces, covering the main Anti-Japanese Base Areas led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) during the Anti-Japanese War. Some of the Women’s Militia Unit came from the Railway Guerrillas, Plain Guerrillas and other fine traditional Militia Units who achieved great military achievements. This included Militia organizations that developed unique tactics such as tunnel warfare, mine warfare, and sparrow warfare. In the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the size of Socialist China’s Militia reached more than 2.6 million. The vast number of militias participated in the war and fought bravely to annihilate more than 106,000 enemies, causing the Imperial Japanese invaders to fall in vast numbers during the People’s War.

Brave Kamikaze Pilots Sacrificed Their Lives!

Manchuria [1945]:  Japanese Kamikaze Attacks Against Advancing Soviet Armour! (26.7.2024)

The Imperial Japanese Army – Kwantung Army – even formed an entire Motorized Mechanized Brigade of “Kamikaze” (Suicide) Tank Destroyers (comprised of 4,000 volunteers), who were supposed to stop the advance of the Soviet Red Army at the cost of their own lives. The technical side of the issue was simple: from a camouflaged pit, cave, or other hidden area, constructed in a tank-hazardous direction, an Imperial Japanese Army soldier would be expected to wait patiently until the Soviet tank was very close – and then he would run-out and use a mine attached to a long bamboo pole – which would be quickly inserted between or under the tracks of a passing Combat Vehicle. Another option: an Imperial Japanese Army soldier – carrying a backpack filled with explosives – would throw himself under an advancing Soviet tank – exploding the rucksack once in position.

Chongqing: China Remembers 140th Anniversary of General Stilwell’s Birth! (10.8.2023)

As a consequence, the presence of Stilwell reminds the world of a more enlightened time in US foreign policy. The ‘Stilwell Museum’ is situated in ‘Chongqing’ – whilst ‘Stilwell Town’ is to be found at the Qinglong section of the Yunnan-Guizhou Highway. Chongqing was formerly part of South-East Sichuan province until 1997 (when it became an ‘Independent Municipality’) – whilst Qinglong county is located in the South-West of Guizhou province. Therefore, the ‘Stilwell Museum’ and ‘Stilwell Town’ are situated around 422 miles apart and should not be confused. Remember, so stubborn and difficult to defeat was the Kwantung Army of Imperial Japan – that the US requested that the Soviet Red Army should intercede and enter North-East China during late 1945 – which it did to great military success! By 1950, the US was rewarding this Soviet sacrifice by broadcasting propaganda lies stating the Red Army had committed endless ‘atrocities’! The Chinese people, of course, have the utmost respect for the USSR and its defeat of Imperial Japan – as once again it was the Soviets that saved the world from fascism!

Time: How To Tell Your Friends from the Japs! (9.2.2023)

Today, the equivalent would be ‘How to Tell Your (Japanese) Friends from the ‘Chinks’!’ Racism, however, tends to adapt to the times and although Article 9 of the post-1945 Constitution of Japan states that ‘The Japanese People Renounce War Forever’ – a succession of US and Japanese governments have been sword rattling – particularly in opposition to what is perceived as China’s unwarranted economic and military expansion! China is growing through Socialism – whilst post-war Japan grew from being given billions of dollars of US aid! Any country given what amounts to ‘free money’ will economically develop if the right discipline is present. No one helped China and as a country she has risen out of the depths of despair upon her own and there is nothing to be ashamed about when the Communist Party of China is given the credit for what it has achieved!
