Mao made the remarks after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the 14th Dalai Lama on Sunday on the occasion of the latter’s 90th birthday. Other Indian officials attended the “birthday celebrations”.

As a result, China has lodged representations to the Indian side, Mao said at a regular news conference.

“As is known to all, the 14th Dalai Lama is a political exile under the guise of religion, who has long engaged in anti-China and separatist activities and attempted to separate Xizang from China,” Mao said, calling on the Indian side to stop using Xizang-related issues to interfere in China’s internal affairs.

It was not until 1780, when the sixth Panchen travelled to Chengde to offer birthday greetings to the Qianlong Emperor and reported on the matter, that the emperor accepted the appeals from the Panchen and other Tibetan Buddhist leaders to officially recognize Jampel Gyatso as the eighth Dalai Lama. In 1781, when the Qianlong Emperor formally conferred the title of the eighth Dalai Lama, he simultaneously affirmed Kelsang Gyatso as the seventh Dalai Lama and Tsangyang Gyatso as the sixth. This marked a direct clarification and ordering of the Dalai Lama reincarnation lineage from the perspective of the central government, highlighting the central government’s authority in managing the issue of the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation.

Meanwhile, after relocating to the West, taking a pay-cheque from the CIA, living in 5-star hotels, eating meat, and driving around in a bullet-proof limousine – the Dalai Lama has been involved in all kinds of nefarious activities. Recently, he declared the accused rapist and narcissist – Russell Brand – as being a genuine Buddhist and reborn lama! Obviously, everything you have been told through the Western media about Tibet is a lie. Neo-Nazism and the Pro-Tibetan Movement must both be exposed and uprooted from genuine society. Although there are some good aspects to Tibetan Buddhism – its embracing of the political far-right sullies its traditions. Only Tibetan Buddhism practiced in China is authentic. All the fake lineages outside of Tibet are run by the CIA, are racist, and distort the Dharma. Do not listen to their cult-like teachings and never donate any money. The next Dalai Lama will be born in China and will be loyal to the Chinese Communist Party (CPC). Buddhism is Socialist, is anti-capitalist, and fully supportive of Communist ideology.

By the end of 2019, all 628,000 registered impoverished people in the region had been lifted out of poverty. In 2024, the per capita net income of those lifted out of poverty in Xizang increased by over 12.5 percent.

The average life expectancy in the region rose from 68.17 years in 2010 to 72.19 years in 2020. The medical and health service network has now achieved full coverage across the region.

The region’s road length had nearly doubled in 12 years and every town or township is covered by the 5G wireless network, with 2.14 million 5G mobile phone users.

Moreover, the cultural rights of all the ethnic groups in Xizang remain protected. For example, the Tibetan language is widely used in publishing, media, and daily life. By the end of 2024, Xizang had 17 periodicals and 11 newspapers in the Tibetan language and had published 46.85 million copies of 8,794 Tibetan-language books.
