Unique UK Fotball League - Bristol

England: The 120-Year-Old Bristol Downs Football League – Every Game a “Home” Match! (7.11.2024)

How many football leagues can count a former England cricket idol, an England football captain, an EFL referee, and a serving councillor among its past and present players?

Dating back almost 120 years, the Bristol Downs League, in many ways, is just like every other amateur Saturday afternoon league played up and down the country.

But it is unique in that all four divisions play on the same set of pitches at 14:00 every Saturday afternoon. Every game is a home game.

The sprawling 442-acre open parkland of the Clifton Downs on top of the city’s Avon Gorge hosts 41 teams, more than 1,500 players, and over 400 matches a season.

BBC Radio Bristol spent the 2023-24 campaign there to find out about the people, players, officials and teams that make the league so special and part of the sporting fabric of the city.

Given that they will not only perform space station missions but also future manned lunar landing tasks, the training curriculum has been designed to focus on essential skills such as living and working in a weightless environment and maintaining health, as well as specialized skills like carrying out extravehicular activities, equipment maintenance and space science experiments.

Furthermore, the training aims to enhance taikonauts’ capabilities for future manned lunar missions, including operating spacecraft, driving lunar rovers, identifying celestial bodies, conducting geological surveys and transitioning from weightlessness in space to walking under load on the lunar surface, the agency said.

Ch’an Dao: Sensei Higaonna Morio Issues “Expulsion” Order! (6.11.2024)

Indeed, the “White” offender even stated he “should learn about democracy” – when he politely requested to be allowed back into the family organisation he had slowly built-up over many decades. As he believes this is racially motivated – Higaonna Sensei recently visited Russia where he was treated with the upmost respect! He has aligned himself with Russia against Ukraine – rejecting the Western-backed Neo-Nazism! These Western and Japanese fascists have now been permanently expelled from Higaonna’s lineage.

toilet warning city road

London: City Road [EC1V 2NR] – Shoreditch Side-Street “Not a Toilet”! (5.11.2024)

After being in the vicinity of Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road – Shoreditch – East Central London), we had just visited a new Chinese Supermarket [Fu Lai], we stumbled upon a very strange side-street which cannot be fenced-off because it is publicly accessible. We had seen this place years ago – but we did not record it at the time. Apparently, the sign on either side of this narrow in-dent states that the area is NOT a “Public Toilet”! How odd! This is a posh place full of new high-rise (and incredibly expensive) flats strictly for the elite. As there are no public houses of clubs – it is difficult to understand just why it is that the local population would use this side-street as a toilet. It seems to me that this might be a fake landmark designed to attract bemused tourists and incredulous locals. Perhaps an urban myth.
