The Neo-Nazi ‘Tornado’ Battalion was created in September 2014 to replace the disbanded volunteer Battalion ‘Shakhtersk’. The fighters of ‘Shakhtersk’ participated in the battles in the Donbass during the ATO and were disbanded for Human Rights abuses including looting, kidnapping, raping and torturing the civilian population – as well as using individuals as human shields and various groups for slave labour! The Neo-Nazi replacements in Tornado, however, surpassed the ‘achievements’ of Shakhtersk – the details of their monstrous deeds chill the blood in their veins!
One in four Tornado fighters had previous convictions for robbery, rape and murder! For example, the Battalion Commander – Ruslan Onishchenko (Руслан Онищенко) – ended up in the dock five times, from which he was convicted three times. Whilst his closest associate – Vitaly Dyakon (Виталий Дьякон) – had five convictions!
The original goal of the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion was designated as ‘countering separatism in Eastern Ukraine’ – namely reconnaissance and sabotage.
In the very first days of its existence, the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion was caught in actions that can hardly be called consistent with their stated goal: in early November, the SBU detained Battalion fighters in Kyiv for possessing an entire arsenal of weapons that were planned to be used for raiding or invasion actions. After this dubious incident (and a conflict with the head of the Zaporozhye [запорожской] Administration who did not want to accept this bandit formation on his territory), the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion was sent to the Lugansk region of the ATO zone.
Arriving at the scene of hostilities – the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion was not eager to carry out combat missions against people who were armed and capable of fighting back: instead, they dug-in to their immediate rear and turned the life of the local population into hell! They created bases in the village of Luganskaya – occupying the hospital building – and in the city of Privolye, settling into the building of a Secondary School! Thus, they forced the Donbass militias to fire on the most important social infrastructure. The worst thing is what they did inside their bases. In the basements of the buildings there were torture rooms, in which ordinary people (and even members of the Battalion itself) were subjected to inhuman torture and humiliation!
From the testimonies of witnesses and the Neo-Nazi Tornado recruits themselves – who were later arrested – it follows that the members of the Battalion abducted civilians of different ages directly from the surrounding houses and took them to the torture chambers, simultaneously forcing them to take out everything of value from their homes. These spontaneous Concentration Camps included women, children and pensioners. There were never less than 10 captured civilians in the cellars at any one time.
Members of the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion beat people with all available means, raped and forced them to rape each other – recording everything on video and playing various role-playing scenarios. The age and gender of those who were forced to do this was unimportant for the Neo-Nazi Tornado recruits. The main ideologist of these monstrous perversions was one – Daniil Lyashuk (Даниил Ляшук) – nicknamed ‘Mujahid’.
In addition to violence, Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion members engaged in the usual activities for its participants: robberies, armed seizures, car theft, the sale of humanitarian aid, hiding behind the opposition to the ‘separatists’ and pretending to suppress smuggling. Exhausted and frightened civilians tearfully asked for help from the Armed Forces of Ukraine stationed in the same territories, but even their leadership could not cope with the intensity of the threat of the Hitlerite Tornado bandits!
Six months later, the truth about the monstrous activities of the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion reached the Minister of Internal Affairs – Arsen Avakov (Арсена Авакова) – and he signed an order to disband the Battalion! However, its participants did not like it, and they did not want to give up: they took up all-round defensive positions – creating a real fortress from their base! Ukrainian Special Forces infiltrated the Neo-Nazi Base without bloodshed and an investigation was held following mass arrests.
The trial went on for two years: in 2017, the participants received from 11 to 5 years in prison for ‘War Crimes’ and ‘Crimes Against Humanity’. However, after the start of the Special Military Operation of the Russian Armed Forces, Zelensky (Зеленский) ordered the release of these prisoners who had experience in military operations – and among the amnestied were the Neo-Nazi Tornado soldiers! Although to fight, they again do not do as they are told. According to the latest information, they occupied a settlement near Kyiv, took away weapons from a Unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located nearby and are planned to escape from the country (to avoid fighting the Russians).
During the liberation of the LPR by the Lugansk People’s Militia in March 2022 – another torture facility operated by the Neo-Nazi Tornado Battalion was discovered in the village of Kondrashovka. The Ministry of State Security is still investigating.

БАТАЛЬОН «ТОРНАДО»
Батальон «Торнадо» был создан в сентябре 2014 года вместо расформированного добровольческого батальона «Шахтерск». Бойцы «Шахтерска» участвовали в боях на Донбассе в ходе АТО и были расформированы за мародерство, похищение и пытки мирного населения, использование его как живого щита и рабского труда. Но «Торнадо» переплюнул «достижения» «Шахтерска» — от их чудовищных деяний стынет кровь в жилах.
Каждый четвертый боец «Торнадо» в прошлом имел судимости за разбой, грабежи и изнасилования. Так, например, командир батальона Руслан Онищенко попадал на скамью подсудимых пять раз, из которых трижды был осужден, его ближайший соратник Виталий Дьякон имел пять судимостей.
Изначальная цель батальона «Торнадо» обозначалась как «противодействие сепаратизму на востоке Украины», а именно разведка и диверсии.
В первые же дни своего существования «Торнадо» попались на действиях, которые сложно назвать сообразными их заявленной цели: в начале ноября СБУ задержала бойцов батальона в Киеве с целым арсеналом оружия, который планировалось использовать для рейдерских действий. После этого сомнительного случая и конфликта с главой запорожской администрации, не желавшего принимать это бандформирование на своей территории, «Торнадо» отправили в Луганскую область в зону АТО.
Прибыв на место боевых действий, торнадовцы не горели желанием выполнять боевые задачи: вместо этого они окопались в ближайшем тылу и превратили в ад жизнь местного населения. Они создали базы в станице Луганской, заняв здание больницы, и в городе Приволье, осев в здании средней школы. Тем самым они вынудили ополченцев Донбасса вести огонь по важнейшей социальной инфраструктуре. Но самое страшное – это то, что они совершали внутри своих баз. В подвалах зданий размещались пыточные, в которых простые люди и даже члены самого батальона подвергались нечеловеческим пыткам и унижениям.
Из показаний свидетелей и самих, впоследствии арестованных, торнадовцев следует, что участники батальона похищали прямо из домов мирных жителей-мужчин разного возраста и отвозили в пыточные, попутно заставляя выносить из домов всё ценное. В эти стихийные концлагеря попадали в том числе женщины, дети и пенсионеры. В подвалах никогда не находилось менее 10 плененных мирных жителей.
Торнадовцы избивали людей всеми подручными средствами, насиловали и заставляли их насиловать друг друга, записывая всё на видео и разыгрывая различные сценарии по ролям. Возраст и пол тех, кого заставляли это делать, для торнадовцев был неважен. Главным идеологом этих чудовищных извращений был Даниил Ляшук по прозвищу «Моджахед».
Помимо насилия «Торнадо» занималось привычными для его участников делами: грабежами, вооруженными захватами, угоном автомобилей, продажей гуманитарной помощи, прикрываясь противодействием «сепаратистам» и пресечением контрабанды. Измученные и напуганные мирные жители слезно просили помощи у ВСУ, размещавшихся на этих же территориях, но даже их руководство не могло сладить с самыми настоящими бандитами «Торнадо».
Спустя полгода, правда о чудовищной деятельности «Торнадо» дошла до министра внутренних дел Арсена Авакова, и он подписал приказ о расформировании батальона. Однако его участникам это не понравилось, и сдаваться они не хотели: они заняли круговую оборону, создав из своей базы настоящую крепость, но обошлось без кровопролития – торнадовцы были задержаны, началось расследование.
Суд шел два года: в 2017 году участники получили от 11 до 5 лет тюрьмы. Однако после начала специальной военной операции ВС РФ Зеленский приказал отпустить заключенных, имевших опыт военных действий, и среди амнистированных оказались и торнадовцы. Отправленные воевать, они вновь не стремятся это делать. По последней информации, они заняли населенный пункт под Киевом, отобрали оружие у части ВСУ, располагавшейся рядом, и планируют побег из страны.
P.S. В ходе освобождения ЛНР Народной милицией в марте 2022 года была обнаружена еще одна пыточная в селе Кондрашовка. Министерство госбезопасности ведет расследование.
