It is logical to assume that the lawyers of all three men will lodge a ‘Cassation Appeal’ before the deadline of July 9th, 2022, and that consequentially, each of the three condemned men will receive a guarantied two extra months of existence. This will take us to around the end of August, 2022, when the Supreme Court of the DPR will have to decisively ‘rule’ upon whether the original verdicts were ‘Just’ (and a correct interpretation of the law) or decide that they were not and ‘Overturn’ or ‘Vacate’ the Death Sentences. If the sentences are ‘Vacated’ – then the three cases may well be referred for retrial in a lower DPR Court. If the sentences are not ‘Overturned’ – then I suspect a definite date will be set for the ‘Executions’ to carried-out – and there is always a chance that they might be carried-out ‘immediately’ given all the previous delays!
