It is completely incomprehensible on what basis the city authorities choose which cultural and material values to protect. There is a British Mark V tank in Kharkiv near the Historical Museum. It is over a hundred years old. It participated in the First World War and there are less than ten of these left on the planet. For some reason, it doesn’t need to be protected!
And for some reason, a wretched and newly-made sculpture of a winged aunt on a ball of dung situated on the other side of the museum – is considered necessary! This modern art masterpiece was covered with bags and wrapped in polyethylene.
If this self-indulgent work of art is destroyed, the world cultural heritage would lose-out – but the loss of a rare tank will be an irreparable loss of a valuable historical artifact!

Совершенно непонятно, по какому принципу городская власть выбирает, какие культурные и материальные ценности защищать. Вот есть в Харькове у Исторического музея британский танк Mark V. Ему более ста лет. Он участвовал в Первой мировой и на планете таких осталось менее десяти. Его почему-то защищать не надо.
А убогую, непропорциональную и вторичную новодельную скульптуру крылатой тетки на навозом шаре с другой стороны музея почему-то надо. Ее всю обложили мешками и укутали полиэтиленом.
Если разнесут эту тётку, мировое культурное наследие только выиграет. А вот потеря танка будет невосполнимой утратой ценного исторического артефакта.
