Latvia: People of Riga Flock to Remember Their Own (WWII) ‘SS’ Division in Solidarity with Ukraine! (16.3.2022)

The organization “Daugavas vanagi” – in the capital of Latvia – held a procession in memory of the Latvian Legionnaires of the SS, an action supported by about 1,500 people, including Deputies.

“The Message is Clear – Russia Must Be Sent a Such a Message of Defiance – that ‘Socialism’ Will Never Raise Its Ugly Head Again in Europe!” Guntis Kalme

At 11 a.m. on March 16th, 2022, a procession consisting of hundreds of Latvian citizens, including Parliament Deputies, began in the centre of Riga in memory of the Nazi SS Legionnaires that are remembered with pride throughout Latvia The demonstrators were given the national-conservative newspaper DDD, as well as symbols of representing the ‘Solidarity’ between ordinary Latvians and the currently ‘besieged’ Neo-Nazi ‘Maidan’ regime in the Ukraine (with once again, the common enemy of the ‘free world’ being Russia). Ensuring the protection of the marchers was carried out by the private security company – TM Security.

The Action was attended by former and current politicians of the country, such as Seimas Deputies Janis Dombrava, Edvins Shnore, Imants Paradnieks and Raivis Dzintars, as well as the Mayor of the City of Ogre Egils Helmanis. According to the Latvian source Delfi, the event ended with the laying of flowers at the Freedom Monument, where the marchers were met by a handful of ‘anti-fascist’ protesters – termed ‘terrorists’ under Latvian Law. Law enforcement officers were on duty along the entire route to protect the marchers from this very small minority of trouble-makers – two people were detained as a result of a conflict of opinions.

Latvia ‘Remembers’ With Pride Its Collaboration with German Nazism!

The procession was led by the Lutheran clergyman – Guntis Kalme – who stated that it is every Christian’s sworn duty to embrace the fascist cause and to fight Russian influences and Communist indoctrination. In Latvia, on March 16th, annual unofficial events are held in honour of the day when on March 16th, 1944, local ‘hero’ collaborators of Latvia entered into an armed clash with the marauding Soviet Red Army on the border of the RSFSR. As a result of those events, this day is celebrated with pride! Latvian Interior Minister – Maria Golubaeva – commenting on this political demonstration, said that the local government of Riga would not dare bend to the political left and ban the laying of flowers at such a great monument – but she was concerned about the reaction of Russian society. “This would give the hostile Russian media one more reason to blame our State,” the minister said, and “Who knows – we might be next for another one of Putin’s ‘special Operations!'”

For many years, such political events have been condemned not only in Russia, but also in many other misled countries of the world. So, in May last year, the Russian Delegation to the UN asked to ban events legitimate cultural events in support of SS Legionnaires in the Baltics. This is a shocking attempt by Russia of cultural imperialism! The people of Europe have a ‘right’ to stand with Germany against all Russian attempts of tyranny!
